What Students Say
Likes
- Infrastructure is quite good and eye catching
Dislikes
- Campus is too small as compared to other colleges and the facilities in the colleges are so less.
Course Curriculum
- Course curriculum is so easy its what yiu have already learned in your colleges and school in india.
- Positive asspects are the in depth knowledge and negative is the theory no practical implications can take place.
Admission Experience
-
I applied to just 3 colleges:
- Centennial college
- Humber college
- Georgian college
- Centennial approved me but the offer came at a later date and the fees were already paid at the georgian college Toronto ; whereas Humber is still on the waitlist lol. And got the offer from georgian college within a day so had to enroll in that college itself rather than waiting for other.
- Had no option because courses were full in all the other colleges and universities and colleges I applied to gave me an offer at a later date. This was selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
- They accept IELTS scores of no less than 6.5 in each module, aggregating 7 overall. Admission experience in so smooth that, as I mentioned, the student desk is ready to help anytime conveniently. Begins with paying the term fees and getting onto the registration process and the timetable.
- The intake I applied to was 2024 January. The admissions process lasted for around 3 months, beginning with giving the IELTS examination and selecting and applying colleges, waiting for the approval, funding GIC, and opening a bank account, then going onto the medical process and examination, and then biometrics and fingers. Once everything is in hand, get ready to file a visa and hope for the best
Class Schedule
- Three batches of class take place. Morning eve and afternoon
8:30-3 / 3-6 /6:30-9:30 - There are lot of indian students in the college and course.
Faculty
- The faculty-to-student ratio is one professor per 25 students in one batch.
- Teaching methodology is pretty simple and everything is on technology; no pen and paper usage takes place.
- Well, yes, faculties do assist the students in finding the jobs and looking for the platform they need to work on.
- My communication professor was so helpful and amazing; she always helped me a lot
Campus Life
- My college has 6 campuses. I am not aware of all the campuses, but one is Barrie, one is Toronto Downtown, one is Orillia, and one is Owen Sound.
- No facilities on my campus; nothing is there; not many events take place; neither festivals nor clubs happen.
- In terms of extracurricular activities, just games are boring and some general stuff happens sometimes only.
Part Time Jobs
- Well, no idea about such positions yet; not been into this stuff much.
- Maximum hours are 24/week nowadys and its easy to get on-campus jobs. You have to be informed and involved in the college happenings and everything so you can know when, where, and what takes place to secure a good on-campus job in the college.
- Hourly, they earn the minimum wage rate, which is $17.20. As of current scenario Yes it is difficult to secure a part time job because the labour market is tough and competitive. A lot of people are applying and jobs ares less i would suggest to bring a good experience and a profile to get an easy job, be confident, and keep looking and looking and searching. Don’t give up.
Placement
- Yes, a lot of them secure a good amount of jov, ranging from $50000 to $150000 annual. It depends on your science, your experience, and the course you have studied in Canada.
- Placement at our college doesn’t take place, as I have already mentioned that the campus is so bas and small so no such things take place.
- You have to go outside and search for it on your own.
Accommodation
- I was supposed to live with my friend whom I have been knowing since my childhood so finding accommodation was not an issue for me but I would suggest you look on FB Marketplace and Kijiji before coming to Canada because it helps a lot in every aspect and the main thing is, please do not pay any money before somebody you know looks at the accommodation.
- If you don’t know anyone, rent AirBnB for a few days and fin’s accommodation after coming here.
Exams
- IELTS is the most convenient exam one needs to give and a band score of minimum 7.
- Documents : SOP, LOR, LOI, Transcripts, IELTS TRF, Passport, Funding (sometimes), bank statements,
- No interviews were conducted during ky time; everything was pretty smooth and calm. I have no idea about current scenario or how it works but if interview takes place, be ready to be a part of it
Fees
- The entire course cost me around $30000, approx. the fees one has to pay semester-wise. Every semester before its beginning, the fees start getting due.
- Monthly expenses of a student average around $1000-1300 as of the current scenario, including rent, transportation, food, and miscellaneous. If you prefer some luxury, then you must be ready to bear it up to $2000.
Scholarship
- Well, no scholarship because the system here is quite complicated and I didn't understand how it works.
- I tried applications for lot scholarships but no response even after one year has been passed on.
- So just this thing is where student desk lacks to help. There are options available on the website but quite difficult to understand and get information on.
