How to Download Your JAM 2026 Offer Letter

After receiving the admission letter, monitor your allotted IIT’s website for orientation dates, hostel allocation details, and any pre-joining academic requirements such as course registration or departmental formalities.

JAM 2026 Seat Booking Fee: Refund and Withdrawal Rules

The seat withdrawal window on JOAPS was open from June 3 to July 3, 2026. Students who withdrew within this period were eligible for a partial refund after a processing charge of Rs 6,000 was deducted from the seat booking fee paid.

What to Do If You Did Not Get a Seat in JAM 2026

If you were not allotted a seat through JAM 2026 or chose to exit the process, several pathways remain open for pursuing postgraduate science programmes:

• CUET PG 2026 — for M.Sc. admissions at central universities across India; applications and counselling are ongoing through mid-2026.
• JEST 2026 (Joint Entrance Screening Test) — for Ph.D. and integrated Ph.D. admissions in physics and related fields at national science institutions.
• State university entrance exams — many state universities hold their own M.Sc. entrance tests with July and August application windows still open.
• Deemed and private universities — several institutions accept JAM 2026 scores or conduct their own entrance tests for M.Sc. admissions independently.
• IISc and IISER admissions — these institutes run separate processes for integrated Ph.D. and M.Sc. programmes with distinct eligibility criteria and their own timelines.
