VIT Vellore Admissions: Students' Opinion

  • BSc
  • BTech
  • M.Sc
  • MCA

AI-Generated Summary based on 43 Reviews

The B.Sc + M.Sc program in Computational Statistics and Data Analytics at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is based purely on Class 12 marks, requiring a minimum of 65% with Mathematics or Computer Science as a core subject. For a safer margin, securing above 70% is advisable, with higher board percentages enhancing chances due to rank-based admissions. The application process is entirely online through the official VIT website, with no entrance exams required for this integrated program.

It's important to regularly check the site for updates and document submission deadlines. No TNEA counseling is part of the admission process, and filling the online application requires a fee of Rs. 600. While VITEEE and other exams are commonly attempted by students, they don't impact the admissions for this program. The curriculum includes moderate exam frequency, supporting academic and personal growth, facilitated by strong placement opportunities and numerous clubs and workshops to enhance job readiness.

VIT's high NIRF and QS rankings add to its appeal, further bolstered by guaranteed placements. The selection into categories impacts tuition fees, increasing with higher categories. Students ideally securing admission often choose VIT over other institutions like IITs or Manipal due to its competitive advantages in materials, academic relevance, and placement success.
