  • There are courses of all kinds, some good in terms of content and faculty and difficult to score, some lightweight and easy to balance with heavy subjects and job applications.

Fees

  • Semester 1 was 15K USD, semester 2 was 16K USD, semester 3 was 16K, and last semester it was 7K.
  • The total fee is 55k usd, and living costs roughly 500 to 600 USD per month, around 15k USD for room sharing for 2 years.

  • The MS CS course at ASU is fairly challenging but manageable, with a good mix of theory and hands-on work. I liked the flexibility in choosing courses and the strong research focus, though some popular classes do get crowded.
  • Usually, I had 1–2 classes a day, mostly between 9 AM and 5 PM. Most classes had around 100–200 students, and there were plenty of Indian students around, which felt nice and familiar.

Fees

  • It cost me around $69000, which included a tuition fee of about $37000 and the rest of it was living expenses. Fees are charged for each credit and we need to pay them each semester.
  • My monthly expenses used to be: rent - $500, food - $250, miscelleanous - $1000 to $2000. The actual monthly expenses would largely depend on the individual's personal choices as well.

  • The course curriculum is of medium difficulty level with a mix of theoretical and practical classes.
  • The positive aspect is the extensive variety of electives and research, and the negative aspect is the workload.
  • There are 1–3 classes per day usually, each for 1–2 hours. The class size is 40–60 students on average. There are plenty of approximately 500 Indian students who are there, forming a majority of the batch.

Fees

  • 60,000 USD as total fee
30,000 USD for the tuition, 12000 for hostel and the others contribute to Insurance and health.
  • In the first 3 semesters they charge around 13000 USD and the last semester it is 7700.
  • Monthly expenses are around 500 which includes the accommodation, food, electricity and other utilities.
  • The transportation is free and there is bus facility.

  • The course differs from what we study in India , here it is more distributed into the whole semester rather than on few exams . Here you will have to work throughout the semester and the weightage of final exams are very less.assignments have equal importance as of exams and there is almost a mandatory project in each subject which has a 30-40% of marks of your whole subject.
  • Only negative points can be that the way of answers they expect in the exam may differ a bit from our experience in India , here a strict structure is followed in my opinion .
  • Students have 6 classes of 1.25 hours each week .2 classes typically per day . for 3-4 days
  • There are approx 100-120 students in each class. In my courses of CSE there are approx 100-120 students out of which most are Asians and majorly Indians .

Fees

  • Fee breakdown : 17k+17k+17k+7k dollars approx for my 4 semester degree (2 years).
  • I live off campus so no hostel fee .
  • You have to submit fee each semester.it is based on credits you take each semester.
  • If you decide to live off campus then 600 dollars is the approx rent per month and another 200 for you grocery etc.most of the apartments are nearby so there is no transport cost.there are some free buses that go across campuses and nearby areas.

  • There are only a few courses which are difficult but they are very practical and you get to learn a lot from these courses. are very difficult to get into though.
  • Classes - usually 2 classes for each course and mostly 3-5 classes per week, usually from 8 am to 4pm. Each class is 1:15 hours. The average number of students in our class is around 140. Indian students in MSCS is 90% but 20% if you get into a business course.
  • Positive: Very practical and deep dive into topics and professors are very experienced (Course: SML, AI, DPS)
  • Negative: Hard courses take all your time in projects and assignments making it hard to do anything else (job applications or social).

  • The difficulty level of the course curriculum depends on the classes you're choosing. Overall, the course curriculum is on the easier side. Almost all my classes are 70% theoretical and 30% practical.
  • The positive side is I can explore courses in various concentrations like big data, distributed systems, etc. There are a lot of courses to choose from. The negative side is some faculty just read from slides and are not interested. So, it is important to look at the ratings of the professor before taking the class.
  • Most of the faculty members don't assist students in their professional careers, whether they are part-time or full-time.
  • I like Fish Wang. His software security course is really challenging and he is really good at making students understand difficult concepts.

Fees

  • The entire fees for my course is 54,000 dollars, including tuition, health insurance, miscellaneous fees, etc.
  • It is charged semester wise and it is credit-based.
  • My monthly expenses come to around 600 dollars. My rent is $400 a month for a shared room. Transportation is $0 since we have campus shuttles and Orbit buses, which are free of cost. Groceries come around $100. Electricity and Wi-Fi combined come to around $70, and the rest is miscellaneous.
