  • I opted for off-campus accommodation, found mainly through Facebook and Telegram student groups. Monthly rent was around $550, including Wi-Fi and utilities. Some challenges included high demand and limited listings near campus, and not proper knowledge of the areas. Most Indian students stay nearby for convenience.
  • I recommend starting the search early, visiting multiple options, and confirming safety and amenities before finalizing.

  • I used Facebook and WhatsApp groups and also contacted people on LinkedIn, so it was a mix. The monthly rent was 700, and we had centralized AC, a refrigerator, 2 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms in an apartment.
  • The biggest challenge was to find good roommates, which I was lucky with; fortunately, I had good people around me. I would say search Facebook and WhatsApp groups online for accommodation. My flat is 2 kilometers away from the college campus. Most Indians stay at 5050 E Garford St.

  • I came across a whatsapp group through a senior whom I connected on linkedin and she gave me all the resources where I could come across accommodation.
  • Monthly rent ranges between $450 - $650 depending on the lease and apartments.
  • No as such challenges till now
  • Before deciding university have a talk with seniors of that particular university and on finalising the university connect to more seniors and alumni of that particular university so they can guide you better.
  • Its hardly takes10 to 15 mins to reach the university by local transit bus.

I choose CSU long beach for its acedemic excellence, affordablity and its located in southern california near to silicon valley and pleasant climate. Application process is quite simple acedemic records, Gre and toefl scores, statement of purpose and Letter of recommendations.

The best thing about this university is the location and the price. Its located in long beach in the beautiful SoCal and very close to Los Angeles. It is amazing. Really nice location, nice people and so much to explore and do. The only down side is that it is pretty expensive but atleast the weather is nice here.

I really liked the program and the location. This is a well-reputed university. It is not as expensive as UCs but still has a great amount of resources. I love the resources on campus and the fact that they keep us involved. There are opportunities to work on campus as well. I wish we had placements.

Over all experience in California state University, long beach is pretty much good as of now, how ever it totally depends on you, how you upgrade your skills for the jobs to beat the competition as the competition for any single job is much high, and also be prepared well even before you landing in the US.

There are few factors on which I chose this University: 1. Academics - Its computer science program has good ranking in USA. 2. Tuition Fees - It has affordable tuition fees which was under my budget. 3. Proximity to Silicon Valley - This university is in California and it is close to Silicon Valley. My overall experience at CSU Long Beach is good overall. I like the academia and facilities provided to the students and International Student Department is very helpful and understanding.
