  • Here's all you. Campus does not directly connect you with companies. But they provide all resources and guide you to be a good candidate. Almost everyone gets a job within 6 months of graduation, with very few exceptions. Average salary for BME graduates is $100,000 USD per year.
  • Students apply directly to companies through various job websites like LinkedIn, Handshake, Indeed, etc. Lowest salary may be around 70k USD and highest up to 150k USD. This is not just Duke but any other university in the US.

  • Online platforms. Students usually form WhatsApp groups where they can connect and look for accommodation together. Duke offers websites to look at housing options too. There are many housing options very close to Duke where transportation is also available through Duke buses so it will not be a problem at all. Just connect with immediate seniors through LinkedIn, and they will help you out easily with necessary contacts.
  • Duke will reply to emails immediately and their staff will help you out too. Its not a big challenge to find housing or a place to live. Its very trustworthy, and online reviews will tell you properly too.

  • Not sure of the numbers but currently the market is pretty rough so only 50-60% of them find decent jobs 6 months after graduation.
  • Salaries go from as low as 60,000 USD to as high as 200,000 USD. Typically, students land jobs through job boards, networking and some through career fairs. Note: No official numbers quoted here, just based on my hunch.

  • Join online WhatsApp communities to find accommodations. Some popular accommodations amongst Indian students: Chapel Towers, Belmont, Lofts, Erwin Terrace, Campus Walk
  • Usually someone circulates a google sheet to fill out your preferences for a room mate. Ideally, get an individual room but if you want to save up some money, you can also share a room.

  • 80-90% students find a full time job post graduation from MEM.
  • Avg salary ranges from 70-125K depending on the location of Job and YOE of candidate.
  • Most common way is through networking, through alumni, and then cold applications and career fairs.
  • Most batchmates have been placed in good Fortune 500 companies.
  • Major companies that hire from my course are Walmart, Microsoft

  • I found accommodation through recommendations from my seniors and Duke also organized a housing fair, so it was easy to choose from options.
  • 460 USD is my rent for a room. without bathroom
  • My roommate pays 500 for a room with bathroom
  • And one roommate stays in the hall for 370 USD
  • We pay 1530 for the whole 2B 1.5B apartment and 220 for utilities.

  • Usually 80 percent of the graduating batch is employed full time within first 6 months of completing the course. These numbers are based on the employment report for our program.
  • The average salary range is between 90,000 USD to 120,000 USD for a full time role post graduating from the MSBA program at Duke Fuqua.
  • Since it’s a ten month program internships are rare and most students find jobs through applying through job portals and networking with alumni. Campus recruitment is not a part of the program at Duke Fuqua.
  • Since it’s a difficult job market in the US and around the world, my batch mates and I have struggled to find full time roles but with consistent applications and networking most of us were able to find relevant positions in good organizations. Example of companies where graduates of my program work at are Capital One, Amazon, Goldman Sachs and more. The roles usually are analytical in nature like business analyst, data analyst, financial analyst etc.

  • I found accommodation off campus but it was owned by the university thus I found it directly through the university website and didn’t not have to use any platforms or agents.
  • The monthly rent was 800 dollars per person and the monthly utilities were 200 dollars per person in a two bedroom two bathroom apartment shared by two people. The name of the property was Lancaster Commons and it included a gym, common room and a swimming pool. It also had a bus that runs every 20 minutes to the university and back.
  • I didn’t face challenges in securing accommodation as the apartment was owned by Duke and the application process was well defined and at no additional cost.
  • I would say choose accommodation that has reliable and preferably free transportation to the university in short regular intervals. Additionally it’s very important to not just get a good apartment but also go get a flatmate/roommate you are comfortable with because that can really make or break your living situation.
  • My accommodation was 6 minutes away by bus from the University. Most Indian students stay in Belmont apartments or Heights at Lasalle apartments. But these both are owned and operated by external agencies and are not associated with Duke.

The Career Management Center has started giving us tips to build our resumes.

While I was making a list of colleges that I had to apply to, I found the Fuqua culture really immersive and this is what attracted me to it. I chose this program because I wanted to transition from a pure sciences background to a management background. This will act as a springboard for my future career goals.

This does not depend on the university or program it depends on the student's calibre and the market demand. Unlike India, US schools do not do campus placements, they do career fairs where you get to meet various companies. So do not come with this expectation. If the job market is bad you wont get jobs right away. Prestigious schools like Duke will help you immensely in making connections.

I chose this college as it is one of the renowned colleges. It has amazing faculties, people who have been in the industry for years. It has great courses and exposure to other schools and overall experience was good.
