What Students Say
Likes
- The Campus is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by forest and beautiful ponds and parks.
- People and Professors are very nice, everyone around you is super talented and highly achieved. The Talent density is really outstanding.
- There are all sorts of clubs and organizations in Duke that you can image of, and they all are well funded and keep organizing events.
Dislikes
- Durham is a small and aloof town, so there is not much to do outside of campus, so weekends can be boring and depressing sometimes.
- There is no dining hall for West Campus, there are only restaurants which o $5 meals, which is decent but they can do better.
- Meals for vegetarians are limited, and expensive, they can work on that.
Course Curriculum
- Some courses are difficult, like marketing and finance, rest are easy and light. But most courses in MEM involve team meetings and lots of assignments, which can get hectic after a while.
- There is only 1-2 classes a day, that too depends on how many courses have you taken for the semester. usually there are only 4-5 classes a week. They last 3 hours and timing vary for all the classes.

- I chose Duke because it is one of the top 5 universities that offer MEM course. The alumni have also made it to good companies, so I chose Duke.

- GRE is optional, IELTS is 6.5 Min.
- The whole admission process was smooth, the only challenge was they rolled out admission a little late.
- I applied to the Fall 2024 intake and factors like economic and job markets in the Unites States affected my decision to apply. I saw that the market was improving so I applied for this intake.

- 150ish indians are enrolled in my Course.
- Faculties do not assist students in finding part time jobs, there is a portal for part time jobs where you can apply and most students find success on it.
- I admire Tony O'Driscoll the most, most interesting professor at Duke.
- Faculty to student ratio is 10:1.This ratio does not influence the quality of education since all professors are superb and there are mentors assigned to each student to seek help as well.
- The teaching methodology of faculty members is good. Class material is more than sufficient to prepare for the exams.
Campus Life
- The university has 2 main campuses, east and west. east if for 1st and 2nd year. west if for the rest.
- There are all facilities from sports facilities, gyms, swimming pools, stadiums, libraries, wellness center, sexual wellness, pantry, hospital, therapist, etc.

It is easy to secure part time while studying and since its not a lot of work, you can also do you assignments and personal work if the work day is light.
