Colleges Where I Was Accepted

Reason for choosing my college

  • Location preference: Phoenix and chandler are the top cities in Arizona where most of the Electrical Engineering MNC's are present in Arizona. They hire students from Arizona State University.
  • Also, the coursework involved here is diverse with both digital- and analogue-related work in the VLSI Domain.

Colleges Where I Was Rejected

Reason for Rejection

  • I have tried the application for the main west Lafayette campus but they gave me Northwest so I don't want to go for it. I have tried to apply for the Texas A&M college station campus. My application could not be completed because of several reasons.

Tips to enhance your application

  • Include your experience that is related to the course you are interested in. Also try to highlight it in your resume and SOP. There are scholarships for new entry people so apply as soon as possible to get them.

Admission Experience

  • The United States is a stable country for all types of preferences. ASU has a reputation for Electrical Engineering courses. Mixed Signal and Circuit Design and others. A prominent location for students who are in the same domain. Good opportunities within the state and from other states as well. Everything is good.

Class Schedule

8

  • Usually 3 courses include 9 hours of classes per week. Depends on the courses. It also depends on the total strength assigned for the class. It's about 40-50 on average. Indians cover most of the percentage of the class. A lot of work and time must be given for assignments and projects to stand out.

Faculty

8

  • The Faculty to student ratio is good because we have a lot of professors teaching the courses. Vidya Chabria and chaitali chakrabarty are two strict professors, but I like them because of their command of the subject. Yes, with their reference we can easily get an on-campus part-time job. A bit helpful in Full time as well.

Campus Life

10

  • ASU has 3-4 campuses in total; all are nearby and have a shuttle from tempe campus daily. Good library, sports and medical facilities. My campus is Tempe, with many fests in the college and many Indian clubs to join and enjoy. Many Indian clubs are formed; almost each and every week has some event to participate in.

Part Time Jobs

  • Students do both on-campus and off-campus. On-campus minimum pay is very good but it's a bit low when you go for Off-campus opportunities. Maintaining relations gives both on- and off-campus jobs to a great extent. We have the ASU portal where students can apply for on-campus jobs and referrals from managers work well.
  • Lot of part-time opportunities are included, both on-campus and off-campus. TA/RA roles are available but are limited to those with good GPA and availability. Most of them have graduate Service assistant jobs with an hourly pay of $15 per hour. Maximum allowed is 20 hours per week. To get the internship, it's your effort and subjective knowledge

Placement

9

  • Most of them secure a job within 6 months after completing their graduation. Most salaries range between $90k and $120k. Mostly through job boards like linkedin and career portals of the companies with referrals. Most of them get above $70k and on average they get $90k, with the highest reaching up upto 120k and 130k.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

  • Online platforms like apartments.com and other websites give a good overview of the housing. Many WhatsApp groups also provide opportunities to look for roommates and coordinate with them. Reaching out to property managers because of timing differences is a bit of a challenging task while searching for accommodation.
