Financial Aid

It is available to students applying for any program under Somaiya Vidyavihar University (SVU). The financial aid can cover up to 100% of the tuition fee based on financial need and merit. To be eligible for financial aid, students must meet one of the following criteria:

  • EWS/BPL: Students with family income up to INR 8 Lakhs are eligible for financial aid up to 100% concession on the tuition fees.
  • PWD: Students with benchmark disabilities (40% or more) are eligible for a 50% concession on the tuition fees.
  • Defence Personnel: Wards of defence personnel, or disabled or deceased in the line of duty, may receive a 50% concession on the tuition fees.

Somaiya Scholarship

Somaiya Scholarship is offered to all students of the university who are meritorious and have financial needs. Students can apply for the Somaiya Scholarship from the first week of July to the first week of September every year. Awards decisions are made based on the availability of funds and the number of applicants. It is applicable for the entire duration of the program. Up to 100% tuition fee waiver can be availed by students through these scholarships.

First-Year Merit Scholarship

Industry-Sponsored Scholarship for UG

  • Under the Blue Star Foundation Scholarship is provided to the 2nd-year students enrolled in a degree programme in engineering who have secured a minimum of 80% marks in Board exams. Additionally, the annual income of the student’s family must be less than INR 6 Lakhs. The scholarship benefits are as follows:
    • INR 75,000 or 50% of the annual fees (whichever is less)
  • JSW Foundation is given to the 1st or 2nd year students from the branch of Computer Engineering/Electronics Engineering/Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/IT. The student’s family should have an annual income of INR 8 Lakh.
  • Ramlal Khetawat scholarship is given to 2nd-year to final-year students of Computer Engineering/Electronics Engineering/Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/IT/Electronics & Computer Engineering branch. Up to 1 Lakh of scholarship can be availed under this scheme.
  • People United for Students’ Help (PUSH) scholarship scheme for UG provides financial aid of over 60 Lakhs.

Management Scholarships

Merit-Based Scholarship

The institute offers financial aid to economically weaker students who have been admitted as per the selection criteria. A total of 5 scholarships are offered, which provide a 100% tuition fee waiver. The eligibility criteria for students for this scholarship are as follows:

  • Indian Resident and below 30 years of age.
  • Applicants must have scored a minimum of 80% marks in Class 10th and 12th and 70% in UG studies.
  • Achievements at the State, National level, or international level in Sports, Arts and community service or other significant achievements.
  • >=90 percentile in CAT/ >=90 percentile in XAT/ >=700 in GMAT/ >=250 NMAT.

Students are selected based on their academic performance, achievements in extracurricular or cocurricular activities of and the applicant’s statement of purpose of 300 words by KJSIM selection committee. An in-person interview will be conducted as well. The top 5 students are given the scholarship with the condition of maintaining academic performance at 65% to 70% or equivalent CGPA and attendance above 75%
