Life at TNNLU - a comprehensive review

Likes

The staffs and faculties are very approachable. Professors can be consulted after the classes everyday regarding projects and other academic doubts.
The campus and hostel are secure and well maintained.
The campus is very happening with many celebrations, co curricular and extra curricular activities.

Dislikes

The campus is situated in the outskirt of the city.

Admission:

The admission is through the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) conducted by the CLAT consortium. I applied to other colleges based on the scores of the same exam. I had applied for VIT (Chennai), NFSU (Gujarat), and Saveetha and got admission in all three of them. I chose TNNLU over Saveetha and VIT as it is a state-run institution, with better faculty, is more affordable, and obviously, the NLU tag.

My college life

Likes

I like how my collge is well structure and maintained. All the buildings are equipped with air conditioning and a room for studetns is also made with air conditioning
The students are provided with seperate hostel for both boys and girls with 2 students in one room which is large and spacious
The students are free to choose their own roomates and change their roomate and the follwing year.

Dislikes

The hectic schedule of my college. The classes begin from 9 am and sometimes extend upto 6pm

Admission:

I applied to certain other colleges but I did not opt them because they were private and charged more than the current college. The other college has practically more students and numerous batches making one on one interaction with the teacher difficult

Likes

Really an inclusive campus with diverse people around India. Students will get a chance to interact with people from different background which will be a really unique experience for the students and the inclusive environment helps students to learn.
Tamil Nadu National Law University allows students to take part in various competitions academically and through sports where our college provides attendance concession to take part in Moot competitons, ADRC and TAC and many more.
The faculties are very friendly and helpful, there are many programmes through which the faculties and the students are well co-ordinated and work together. There are also mentors provided to the students to share their griefs academically, personall

Dislikes

The clash in project suubmissions and exam period would be really stressful as they begin right after projects are done. This would be tiring and we won't get holidays to prepare for examination which is what I dislike the most.

Admission:

I've apllied for multiple colleges and before Tamil Nadu National Law University, I applied to VITSOL and got selected. I didn't attend the college but the fee structure would be the major difference between the two colleges as in VITSOL, I had to pay over 4 Lakhs per annum and also the educational standard varies as TNNLU is exclusive under Clat consortium and also they are a privilged institution exclusively established for law by the State. I've not been rejected from any college that I have applied for, the admission process is through clearing CLAT exam. The seats will be alloted through the counselling process after the CLAT results.

Comfortable hostels with dining and laundry facilities

The hostels are not air conditioned, it gets too hot in the summer

Admission:

All admissions to this university are done on the basis of the Common Law Admission Test. Through the website, one can register for the examination by paying 5000 as admission fee. Upon the release of the results, based on the score university releases 5 rounds of counseling sheets along with the selected candidates. The cut-off is 60 -70 in CLAT. To be honest, the admission process takes quite a lot of time (1 month at least). But, once the admission is confirmed at the University, you will be asked to pay 20K as an admission fee which will be lessened from the fee and the whole process is guided.

Admission:

Undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses are available at the Tamil Nadu National Law University. Admission to TNNLU, Trichy’s B.A. L.L.B. (Hons), BCom. L.L.B. (Hons), and L.L.M programmes are based on CLAT scores obtained by the applicant. Candidates applying for B.A. L.L.B. (Hons) and BCom. L.L.B. (Hons) admission at the Tamil Nadu National Law University must take part in CLAT counseling process. However, candidates must participate in CLAT PG counseling in order to be admitted to L.L.M Course. After the usual admission process, one can get admission through the vacant seats as notified by the University. Applicants willing to take admission should keep an eye on vacancy notifications to grab a seat.

Admission:

I opted this course because of my interest in the field of law. The process of admission starts from the preference of colleges that are given while appearing for the entrance exam - Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). Depending on the AIR secured by a candidate, the admission is granted into the university. This university is the only available national level law college that is instituted in Tamil Nadu. I chose this because of this. The admission begins around june first week and it is Spontaneous and easy to complete.
