There is a special division called carrer guidance cell. Through this cell, the placement activities are Carried out. . Students are eligible for campus placements upon the completion of final semester(8th semester) . The students are mostly placed in aqua feeds based companies followed by fish processing plants ( in the private sector) For gov jobs you need to appear for exam conducted by state government (inspector and Assistant director jobs) and interview for Assitant professor . . Some of the companies include Sheng long, water base feeds, CPF. . Some of the placements in private include 4 to 5 lpa. After graduating most of the students apt out for higher students in both indian and foreign institutes. However about 60% of the students gets placed every year and the rest are pursuing higher studies. As of now I have completed my master's degree and planning to purse doctor's degree. After this I'm planning to become an Assistant professor

Even if this university was established in 2012, it has many facilities and several other things things to offer like good hostel provisions for both boys and girls, well-organized classroom with projectors and a lot of space, hygienic and good food in the mess, gyms, wi-fi facilities, various UG as well as PG courses with highly experienced professors etc, when compared to other government colleges or universities

An aspirant willing to apply for M.F.Sc from Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University must hold a B.F.Sc degree of the Tamil Nadu Fisheries University or from any other recognized University or should have passed an examination holding equivalent value. Admission to this program will be done on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the university entrance examination
