VBSPU Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Ans. The PUCAT question paper has multiple-choice questions. There are a total of 100 questions distributed in three sections. The first section deals with logical reasoning, the second section covers data interpretation, and the third section focuses on the English language. For each correct answer, candidates are awarded 1 mark and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The time allotted for the entrance exam is 2 hours.

Ans. No, candidates cannot apply for direct admission at VBSPU. Aspirants seeking admission to VBSPU must mandatorily have a valid score in the respective entrance exams. VBSPU admissions will be based on marks obtained in the entrance exam and the marks of the qualifying examination. Direct admission is not an option for students at this university.

Ans. Apart from PUCAT, VBSPU also accepts various other national and state entrance exams for admission to different courses. Some of the entrance exams accepted by VBSPU in addition to PUCAT are CUET UG, CUET PG, JEE Main, and GATE. Candidates having a valid score in any of these entrance exams can apply for admission to VBSPU.

Ans. Candidates seeking admission to VBSPU must at least have a percentage between 40-50% in the qualifying exam. The percentage depends on the stream chosen by the candidate. Moreover, those students belonging to the minority categories like SC/ST will be given certain relaxations in the pass percentage. Students must note that they will only be selected when they have passed their qualifying examination with the minimum percentage of marks stated. 

Ans. Yes, PUCAT is mandatory for admission to all the courses of VBSPU. It is an entrance exam conducted by VBSPU for the purpose of admissions to its UG and PG programs. However, in certain cases where state or national-level entrance exams have already been taken by the candidates and they also have a valid score, then PUCAT may not be a necessity. However, the final decision is with the university. 

Ans. Yes, relaxations are given to SC & ST students at VBSPU. Around 5% relaxation in the minimum marks of the qualifying examination required for VBSPU admissions is given to SC & ST students. Other category students like OBCs and PwDs do not have any relaxations in the admission criteria and will need to have a score equal to the unreserved category students.

Ans. Yes, VBSPU has seat reservation criteria. The university follows a reservation policy for admissions in all courses as per the provisions in the Central Educational Institutions. Around 15% of the seats are reserved for SCs, 7.5% for STs, and 27% for OBCs. Candidates who are claiming a seat under this quota should produce the relevant documents to the university during the document verification.

Ans. Yes, you can appear for PUCAT if your degree results have not yet been declared. Candidates who are due to appear for the qualifying examination or have appeared, but whose results are awaited, are also eligible to appear in the PUCAT. However, the candidates whose results of the qualifying examination have not been declared till the date of the document verification, due to any reason whatsoever, shall not be eligible for admission under any circumstances. 

Ans. Candidates need to upload a scanned copy of their photograph and signature before they submit their VBSPU application forms. In case the photo uploaded by the applicants is not clear and is blurry, chances are that the university may reject the application. Hence, students are advised to ensure that the photo uploaded by them is clear and is uploaded in the prescribed format. 

Ans. Aspirants seeking admission to VBSPU must make sure that they submit the right documents during the admission process. If any document submitted by the candidates is found to be false at any stage, then their admission shall be canceled, and they may be liable for prosecution under the law. Hence, the candidates must always cross-verify the documents and information submitted by them to the university during admissions.

Ans. No, candidates who are ineligible for VBSPU admissions cannot appear for PUCAT. The candidates must ensure their eligibility to appear in the entrance examination. If a candidate, who is not eligible to appear in the examination, somehow does so; he/ she will not be considered for admission to any course through PUCAT-2024.

Ans. The fee paid by the candidates at the time of counseling, after the allotment of seats will be forfeited and will not be refunded under any circumstances, even if the candidate does not report for admission to the allotted institutions. Hence, candidates who are claiming a refund of their counseling fee will not get it back irrespective of the situation. 

Ans. Four MTech programs are offered at VBSPU. The duration of all these courses is 2 years. The MTech specializations offered are CSE, Communication Engineering, Power Systems, and Thermal Engineering. The total intake for each specialization is 25 seats and the annual fee is INR 44,250 each. Candidates seeking admission to this course must have a relevant bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate marks. 

Ans. The allotment of seats at VBSPU through counseling will be carried out strictly by the PUCAT merit of the candidate, subject to the order of preference given for the seats and the availability of seats in the category. Once the seat is allotted to the candidate, no change in the institution/branch will be admissible. 

Ans. No, the caste certificate should not be attached to the application form. Candidates claiming advantage of reserved categories, sub-categories, etc. must be required to indicate the same in the application form and are not required to send any certificate to the university at this stage. These certificates, in original, will have to be produced at the time of 

documents verification process along with one self-attested copy of each one of them.

Ans. B.Sc is offered in many specializations at VBSPU. For all the B.Sc programs at VBSPU, the total intake is 60 seats, plus 6 seats for the EWS category. Candidates from the reserved category can claim their seats under the reservation criteria. The fee for the B.Sc program at VBSPU is INR 12,474 per year. The course is of 3 years duration 

Ans. For an M.A. in women's studies, the eligibility is to have a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university with 50% aggregate marks and 45% aggregate marks in the case of SC/ST. Additionally, the eligibility criteria is the same for PG Diploma in Gender and Women's Studies. 

Ans. 70% seats in all the courses of B.Tech. shall be filled through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains). On the basis of the score earned in JEE, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) will conduct the counseling, and the remaining 30% of seats will be filled through PUCAT. However, in case seats lie vacant after JEE Mains counseling, admissions shall be made directly by the university basis on the merit of JEE Mains.

Ans. Yes, VBSPU offers BPharm and BPharm lateral entry courses. A total of 66 seats are available for the courses including EWS. If seats remain vacant after admissions to BPharm, the university will take admission through BPharm lateral entry. The annual fee for both the courses is INR 80,474. BPharm course is of 4 years duration, whereas BPharm through lateral entry is of 3 years duration. 

Ans. Around 5 MBA specializations are offered at VBSPU. An MBA regular course is also available at the university. The other MBA specializations at VBSPU include an MBA in Agri-Business, E-Commerce, Business Economics, Finance and Control, HRD, etc. Each MBA course has 66 seats including 6 EWS seats. To be eligible for these courses, candidates must have at least 45% aggregate marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST category students) in the bachelor's degree.

Ans. The MCA admissions at VBSPU are either based on PUCAT or CUET PG. The admission to MCA will be initially made from CUET-(PG) based on the score earned in it. Counseling of this course will be conducted by A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh). In case the seats lie vacant after CUET-(PG) counseling, admissions for M.C.A. courses shall be made on the basis of the merit of PUCAT.

Ans. Admission to the MTech course at VBSPU shall be made based on the merit of PUCAT scores. However, preference shall be given to GATE-qualified candidates. Moreover, to be selected for the course, candidates must first meet the eligible criteria of having a relevant bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate marks.

Ans. B.PEd application fee at VBSPU is INR 1000 for the general category applicants and INR 750 for the reserved category applicants.

Ans. The university provides separate hostels to boys and girls. There a total of 4 boys hostel and 2 girl’s hostel well-equipped with all the amenities required for a healthy living. Each hostel room is shared between two students and each student has their own cot, cupboard, study table, and chair, provided by the university. It has all the infrastructure facilities such as students’ mess, dining hall, recreation room, study room, internet facility, gymnasium hall and badminton court, etc.
