Ans. Ques. Does SASTRA provide a stipend for Ph.D. (Engineering) scholars?
Ans. Yes. GATE-qualified candidates admitted to the full-time Ph.D. programme at SASTRA receive a 50% tuition fee waiver and a monthly stipend (amount communicated at admission). Additionally, scholars who bring external fellowships such as CSIR-JRF, UGC-JRF, or DST-INSPIRE can avail those stipends. Internal Teaching Assistantship (TA) positions may also be available.
Ques. Can I pursue Ph.D. (Engineering) at SASTRA after B.Tech without an M.Tech?
Ans. Yes. SASTRA offers a Direct Ph.D. programme for candidates with a four-year B.Tech/B.E. degree with a minimum of 75% marks. Direct Ph.D. candidates must complete 10 additional PG-level courses (30 credits) within 24 months of registration. Upon successful completion of all courses and thesis defence, they are awarded the Ph.D. degree.

Additionally, 1 patent (filed) can substitute for 1 publication requirement.
