06 Sep, 2025 TN Paramedical Round 2 Counselling 2025 has started for admission to various UG programs like BSc/ BSc Nursing/ BPharm/ BPT/ BOT/ B.Optom. The last date to register @tnmedicalselection.net is extended to Sept 9, 2025, and the choice filling portal will be open from Sept 7 to 9, 2025. Check notice.
02 Sep, 2025 XAT 2026 registration has started for MBA/PGDM admission. Aspirants can apply online till December 5, 2025, @xatonline.in. XAT 2026 will be held on January 4, 2026, from 2 PM to 5 PM. For more details, Check Here.
SASTRA University is a private deemed university in Thanjavur that offers UG, PG, and PhD programs in multiple domains like Engineering, Management, Optometry, Arts, Fine Arts, among others. The university offers admission to all the courses strictly on the basis of merit. Two types of admission processes are followed for admission to technical courses.
- Admission to BTech courses is granted both on the basis of marks in class 12 and on the basis of the JEE Mains Entrance Exam.
- For admission to law courses, CLAT exam scores will be considered.
- For admission to MTech and MBA courses, the candidates who qualify for the relevant entrance exams like GATE, CAT, MAT, etc, will be given preference over the others.

Ques. What is the selection criteria for BTech admissions at SASTRA University?
Ans. The admission to BTech programs at SASTRA University are based on the following streams-
- Stream 1: JEE Main score and Class XII score- admission to 50% of seats shall be based on the normalized aggregate of Class XII scores and available JEE Main 2025 scores taken together with 50% weightage each.
- Stream 2: Class XII Score: The remaining 50% of seats shall be based on the normalized aggregate Class XII score awarded by the respective boards.
Ques. Is there any age restriction on admissions at SASTRA University?
Ans. The age limit to apply for admissions at SASTRA University is
- All UG applicants should not have completed 19 years as of 01.08.2025.
- For lateral entry programs, the applicant should not have completed 21 years as of 1.8.2025.
Ques. How are admissions to MTech, MBA, MCA, and other programs being conducted at SASTRA University?
Ans. At SASTRA University, once the application issue process starts, the admissions will be based on the qualifying degree/board marks, and preference will be given for applicable competitive exam scores CAT/XAT/AIMAT/CMAT/AIMCAT in the case of MBA and GATE in the case of MTech.
