SASTRA B.Tech CSE (IoT and Automation) Fees

The B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (IoT and Automation) programme at SASTRA follows the same fee structure as all other B.Tech programmes at the Thanjavur campus. The tuition fee starts at Rs. 85,000 per semester in Year 1 and increases by 5% annually from Year 2 onwards. Over the 4-year programme, the total tuition fee amounts to approximately Rs. 7,32,722. Including one-time charges such as development fee, special/registration/medical fees, and annual sports fees, the total programme cost comes to approximately Rs. 7,52,722. There is no separate fee for Minor Specialisation.

Hostel lodging fee for first-year students (shared accommodation, 3-in-1 Non-AC) is Rs. 16,000 per year.
Mess charges are approximately Rs. 5,000 per month (at actuals, dividing system), totalling approximately Rs. 50,000 per year for 10 months.
Hostel facility is available only for students residing outside a 75 km commutable radius from the Thanjavur campus.
Tuition fee is payable online via Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI at the time of counselling allotment.
Refund/cancellation policy is as per statutory body guidelines.
Withdrawal after fee payment is possible from June 30, 2026 onwards (based on 2025 schedule pattern).
The 5% annual increase applies from Year 2 (i.e., from the 3rd semester onwards).

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have passed Class XII (10+2) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Computer Science / Biology, from a recognised State or Central Board, with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in a single sitting.
Candidates should not have completed 19 years of age as on August 1, 2026.
JEE Main is not mandatory; students without JEE scores are considered under Stream 2 (100% weightage to Class XII scores).

Admission Process

SASTRA prepares a rank list based on Stream 1 (50% JEE Main + 50% Class XII) and Stream 2 (100% Class XII).
