VMOU B.Ed Admission 2026

Key insight: VMOU conducts the Rajasthan state-level PTET (Pre Teacher Education Test) for regular B.Ed colleges. That test is separate from VMOU’s own ODL B.Ed program. If you are not a practising primary teacher, check the PTET notification for regular B.Ed admissions to affiliated colleges.

VMOU B.Ed Eligibility Criteria 2026

All three conditions must be satisfied simultaneously:

  • Currently employed as a primary teacher (Class 1 to 8) in any recognised government or private school in India.
  • Holds a 2-year BSTC or D.El.Ed qualification recognised by NCTE.
  • Holds a graduation degree with a minimum of 50% marks. SC/ST/OBC candidates need 45%. B.Tech graduates with Science and Mathematics specialisation need 55%.

VMOU B.Ed Selection Criteria and Fees 2026

  • Selection is through an NCTE-mandated written entrance exam for 500 sanctioned seats, followed by counselling for eligible candidates
  • Admission opens only in the January session. The next application cycle will open in January 2027.
  • Check vmou.ac.in/notices-bed for the latest notifications and application link.

VMOU Scholarships 2026

VMOU supports students through government-linked fee schemes. Most scholarships require the student to pay at admission and then claim reimbursement through the respective portal.

  • Balika Doorasth Shiksha Chhatravritti Yojana (Rajasthan Govt): Full program fee reimbursement for all girl students from Rajasthan enrolled at VMOU. Apply through the Rajasthan social welfare portal after admission.
  • SC/ST Fee Reimbursement: SC and ST students can claim program fee reimbursement through the Rajasthan Samaj Kalyan (Social Welfare) department. Apply at the state portal at the time of admission.
  • National Scholarship Portal (NSP): OBC, EWS, minority, and PwD students can apply at scholarships.gov.in for central and state-funded scholarships.
  • Gold Medal: VMOU awards gold medals to top scorers in each program at the annual convocation. This is a recognition award and not a fee benefit.

Check VMOU Admission Status Online

Candidates can track their VMOU admission status directly on the official student portal after submitting the application and paying the fee, rather than waiting for an email or SMS confirmation.

  1. Visit the official VMOU student portal at online.vmou.ac.in.
  2. Look for the "Admission Status" or "Track Application" option on the homepage or student login section.
  3. Enter your scholar number and registered mobile number or email ID to log in.
  4. The status will show as one of: Application Received, Under Verification, Approved, or Rejected (with reason, if applicable).
  5. Once approved, students receive a unique Scholar Number via SMS and email - this confirms official admission and is required for exam forms, study material dispatch, and future correspondence.

If the status shows "Under Verification" for an extended period, or documents are flagged as incorrect/ incomplete, candidates should contact their selected regional centre or the university's student grievance cell rather than reapplying.
