Mizoram University is one of the leading universities in North East India. Established in 2001, It is a central university that is recognized by the UGC and accredited with an ‘A’ grade by the NAAC. Admissions at Mizoram University or its affiliated colleges are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination. Mizoram University has a campus of 978 acres offering all the modern facilities to its students. The university is about an hour’s drive from main city of Aizawl, Mizoram. Mizoram University (MZU), Aizawl, its Department of Hindi offers PhD admission through a “winter” / regular-admissions cycle. Online applications are invited during the announced admission window. For the recent cycle (2025-26), online PhD applications opened in early July and closed on 09 August 2025 for most departments.
Eligibility requires a Master’s degree in Hindi (or relevant discipline) with the University-specified minimum marks. Selection involves submission of an application, an entrance test or qualifying exam (where applicable), and an interview.
