USTM features a faculty predominantly qualified with NET and PhDs, providing student mentorship. The BPharm program has a unique exam structure, including three sessional exams of 30 marks each, selecting the best two scores for internal assessment, followed by a 75-mark end-semester exam. The student-to-faculty ratio is about 1:17. English and Education departments are reputed for their faculty quality. The use of the Assamese language in teaching poses challenges for non-speakers.

Placement activities begin in the final semester, with companies like SunPharma, Ajanta Pharma, and SBI participating.
