Yeah it's very good for class room is great and lab is workable we have onam programs and xmas, arts day, sports day, youth festival, freshers day its good there is two clubs nss and nature club and good friends
The attitude of the teachers were very rude but their way of teaching is very nice and we can easily score good marks in the exams.
The college have job placements in channels like asianet, and have some institutes like brilliant, also the channel karikku.we have internships at newschannels and other institutes and may get permanent jobs if they like our work.

Dislikes

Facilities are very bad theory is no very good infrastructure facilities provided
The distance from hostel to department is too large and its so difficult to walk
It's a very poor system that's made to waste the time of students as they cram everything from practicals and theory, leaving no space for real life applications .

My college experience at SJIHMCT

Likes

The Labs and facilities are really good and of great standards.
The course itself covers all core elements in a hotel and not just operations.
The faculty is very helpful and promotes all kinds of extra-curricular activities

Dislikes

The placements start way before the completion of the course.
Hostel does not provide any kind of fast food for meals.

The college has MOUs signed with various Indian and International Brands like Marriot, IHG, CGH Earth, Crowne Plaza, Tamara Leisure Experiences, etc and apart from that other brands such as Taj, Hayatt, Oberoi, ITC Hotels, all come for campus recruitments every ear and offer jobs from entry levels upto Management Trainee levels to the students here.

COLLEGE EXPERIENCE

Likes

Good professional kitchen, bakery and fine dining restaurant.
professors are willing to help when approached
professors with industry experience are dedicated to teach real world and practical knowledge

Dislikes

focuses more on theory than practical but you build your foundations really strong
google pay is not available everywhere so you end saving cash

Placement Experience:

the college helps in placement for internships and jobs. in the sixth semester the college helps us get placed in 5 star hotels for internships/industrial exposure training. in the 7th and 8th sem the college helps everyone get placed in companies in and out of India in varying posts such as GSA (Guest Service Asssociate) which is basic level, HOT (Hotel Operation Trainee) which is supervisory level and MT (Management Trainee) which is managerial level the college has 98-100% placement every year there are great partner colleges in and out of India as well for students who wish to pursue higher studies after their BHM degree

Holistic Learning and Career Growth at College

i appreciated how SJIHMCT offered a well Structured curriculum that balanced theory and practical skills
What i liked most was the supportive faculty and their dedication to helping students learn and grow
The campus environment at SJIHMCT felt welcoming and encouraged both academic and personal development

Dislikes

The rules were quite strict which helped me build discipline and professionalism
Having classes on Saturdays was demanding but it prepared me for the hospitality sectors weekend centric work culture
Even though the timings were lengthy it provided more opportunities for hands on learning and skill development

The college provides strong placement support with students becoming eligible for campus placements after complting their 8th semester. 100%of the students are placemenet for those not opting for campus recuitment the college guides students toward internships further studies and skill deelopment ensuring they are well prepared and employable after completing all 8 semesters of the course

Teachers: They are available at any time and they gave as the mandatory details
Students who came to study is worthy than who came to enjoy
Library: its a place of huge peace and the best of sjcet .structure of library is the best.

Dislikes

Events happening is less than nearby college .
Location of the college is not good because of transportation facility is poor
No food stall rather than college and stall is not big as other college

Placement Experience:

Placement is there. Recently i got an advanced training by a leading automation japan company. So everything is there but our syllabus oriented class are not worth for a job. So getting placed number was less.

The college is a sixty one acre lush green campus, it provides all the support for your interest and helps in participating in competitions by providing us space for work and all necessary equipments
Many professors hold phds and are described as well being educated, friendly and approachable. They teach us with real world examples and encourages us on taking various engineering projects.
The college host two main fests, takshak which is the tech fest and sanskriti, a cultural fest, which are popular among students.

Dislikes

The college's autonomous status can lead to tough academic schedule which many students find it difficult
While the placements are decent in college but core placements of mechanical and electrical engineering branches are low, many students end up in IT roles instead.

Placement Experience:

It has a high placement record with dedicating tarining and placement cell. Students are eligible for campus placements starting from sixth semester. The college attarcts a wide range of companies, including major IT recruiters like TCS, Infosys,Wipro and accenture as well as core companies like Bosch. The highest package recorded has been 33LPA, with average package for UG students ranging from 4 LPA to 5LPA. After graduation I plan to go for MBA

Chinmaya college of commerce, arts and science

Likes

The chinmaya college provides great canteen facilities.
Chinamaya college provides opportunities for students who want to be active in sports.
The college campus provided good space for students to sit and talk within the college.

Dislikes

the campus is very strict and full of rules and regulations.
The teachers are strict and doesnt promote phone usage inside college.
The college promotes education more than sports.

Placement Experience:

Placements from this college is applicable to those students who are better at studies and has good grades, the faculty show more response to those students who score more grades thes students will surely get some kind of jobs after completing their courses.

The college strictly concentrate on academic side of the student. And no other skills are developed comparatively. Space for co curriculum activities are poor.
Students in the campus are quite disciplined. Uniformity is maintained well. The students are strictly trained to be professionals .
The campus provide more like school atmosphere than a college

Dislikes

There is no space for personal development and skill development .
Teachers are more into academic forced and books related.
The campus is small and there is no place to explore

Course Curriculum Overview:

The college provide sports meet annually and college day , ethnic day and other important days. The programmes are quite students oriented and its not effective to all the students. Only the students talented get chances. Exams are conducted regularly and results are published on times

Infrastructure is great with well equiped and modern lab facilities
One of the best Library in Kerala which provide access to several hundred thousand books, journals, research article and more
Hostel mess is well planned and overall good compared other colleges

Dislikes

Class timing is from 9 am to 4/5 pm, which is one of the worst timing for a PG student.
Doesnt fully utilize the level of expertise of the faculties with Phd, as the college tends to assign them for quality assurance
Its a College with unnecessary school kind-of policies which can discourage the students from learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum are updated bi-annually, which is a great thing as it keeps the subjects relevant to the industry standards. The semesters can become quite hectic after the first internals as each subjects have 2 components. The timing to submit both is close.

they do offer placements for both ug and pg. But For Pg Structured palcements are limited. For Pg students, especially in commerce and management placement oppartunites are offered. Companies like Federal Bank, Deloitte mostly offered. Since we had no placements, iam focusing currently on content creation and writing, actively working with online media due to my creative interest.
