UAS Dharwad Ph.D Food Science And Nutrition: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. Candidates must hold an M.Sc in Food Science and Nutrition, Food Technology, or an equivalent discipline from a recognised university, with a minimum OGPA of 6.50 out of 10.00. Admission requires qualifying ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF for ICAR-funded seats, or the UAS Dharwad PhD entrance written test for university-quota seats. All admitted candidates appear for an interview and viva voce at UAS Dharwad, which evaluates research aptitude and subject expertise.

Ans. The ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF national-level exam conducted by NTA is the primary route for ICAR-funded seats. The exam was held on July 4, 2026, and results are expected in August 2026. For university-sponsored seats, candidates must appear for the UAS Dharwad PhD entrance written test, dates for which are notified separately. All candidates must clear a viva voce interview at the university before admission is confirmed.

Research under this programme covers food safety and quality analysis, functional food development, post-harvest processing and preservation, food composition and nutritional evaluation, agro-based nutraceuticals, and the impact of processing on micronutrient bioavailability.
