A total of 177 companies participated in the placement drive. The top recruiters for the placement drive were American Express, Goldman Sachs, Google, Pepsi, Oracle, Reliance, Bosch, and more.

The placements are very good with 100% of students getting placed. The summer placement process begins in the first year itself around August & the placement week is in early November for summer internships. The final placements happen in late January to early February of the second year. A lot of renowned names come to the campus for placements and students receive offers in their desired domains. All major consulting firms & investment banks visit the campus and give out offers. The average placement package last year was 28.5 LPA. The summer internship for PGP1s happens in the second term, and the final placements for PGP2 happen in the sixth term. Students with work-ex have their lateral placements in the 5th and 6th terms. The placement is marvelous. Last year the average placement was 33.8 LPA for finals. More than 150 companies, including all the top names, visit our campus. More than 550 offers are made. Everyone gets placed.

There is no question at all if you are optimising for salary in the short term. On average, you would earn more at IIM Ahmedabad and Bangalore than at FMS. In the long run, it will be much more dependent on you and a little bit on the profile you want to work in. However, ceteris paribus and on average IIM Ahmedabad or IIM Bangalore will earn more or as much as an FMS grad. Choose A or B if you want to maximise your placement salary.

The two most important factors considered by recruiters during Placements at IIM ABC/FMS/XLRI are

Brand of UG College - SRCC/Old IITs/BITS/CA

No institute can work properly without a proper cordial relationship among these. Summer placements take place after the end of 2nd term but students start preparing well before the beginning of the term. The following points entail the details of preparation for summer placements k:

Preparatory sessions: The student clubs and societies hold preparation sessions for significant roles in Consulting, Product Management, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Analytics.
Alumni sessions: Experienced alumni from different sectors working at reputed firms come forward and conduct sessions to share their job experience. This enables the students to make better choices for their careers.
Case preparation: The ones who are preparing for consulting roles form a case preparation group wherein they practice mock cases. Mock group discussions and interviews facilitated by clubs and seniors are also conducted.
Peer support group: The peers are competitive yet very considerate towards each other. They don’t celebrate their victory unless all their batchmates have been placed. This installs a feeling of compassion and empathy.

The background and profiles of students of both institutes are too versatile to draw comparisons. If I roughly divide the ISB students and the kind of placement scenario they face then

IIMB intakes people with good and relevant work experience, IIMA seeks a good academic record and a bit of humbleness in a candidate, and IIMC looks for strong analytical skills (it has the highest CAT cutoffs).

During placements, companies that want experienced professionals prefer IIMB, IIMA is visited by companies because of its strong alumni list, and IIMC is preferred by the Banking Sector because of the perception that its students are more quantitatively oriented.

The three of them receive almost the same companies during placements. So for a candidate seeking good career opportunities in a certain field, all three IIMs are equally good. It is just that each one has a certain image associated with its brand, and ranks accordingly in the preference lists of recruiters.

Hostel: IIM Ahmedabad has 25 student dormitories with a total capacity to hold about 740 occupants. IIM Bangalore also offers single-room occupancy to its students.
Internet facility: Both the hostels have a 24/7 internet connection.
Crowd Diversity: IIM Bangalore is slightly at an advantage here because IIM Ahmedabad lays more emphasis on the engineering background of students.
Learning experience: IIM Ahmedabad is more academically oriented whereas IIM Bangalore focuses on the overall development of its students.
Rigour: The faculty strength, academic mix, and more balanced approach to extra-curricular activities make IIM Ahmedabad a better one in this regard.

There are a couple of steps involved in the placement process at IIM Bangalore, which are listed as follows:

Companies come to college to perform pre-placement talks, when they introduce themselves, explain the job roles, and answer students' questions.
Students must send their resumes to the companies they're interested in. Companies then shortlist individuals based on their resumes.
Shortlisting: Companies analyse resumes to select candidates for the next round, which may include group discussions (GD), written ability tests (WAT), and personal interviews. The criteria for shortlisting vary depending on the company’s requirements.
During the selection process, the company evaluates the candidate's communication skills, knowledge of the subject, attitude, and problem-solving skills.
Based on their performance during the selection process, companies offer jobs to individuals they want to recruit. Candidates have the choice of accepting or declining them.

IIM Bangalore Placements 2024 is not yet released till now and the following data is for the 2023 placements. According to the 2023 final report, IIM Bangalore PGP & PGPBA's average package increased by 4.4% to INR 35.31 LPA whereas IIM Bangalore's highest package stood at INR 1.15 CPA (as per media reports). The PGP & PGPBA batch received 606 placement offers & 14 overseas offers. Most of the offers came from the Management Consulting sector (40%). Some of the top recruiters of IIM Bangalore Placements 2023 included Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, Accenture Strategy, Tata Consultancy Services, McKinsey & Company, etc.
