The placements are very good with 100% of students getting placed. The summer placement process begins in the first year itself around August & the placement week is in early November for summer internships. The final placements happen in late January to early February of the second year. A lot of renowned names come to the campus for placements and students receive offers in their desired domains. All major consulting firms & investment banks visit the campus and give out offers. The average placement package last year was 28.5 LPA. Students get placed in varied domains including consulting, finance, general management, product management, marketing, sales, operations, human resources, etc.

The summer internship for PGP1s happens in the second term, and the final placements for PGP2 happen in the sixth term. Students with work-ex have their lateral placements in the 5th and 6th terms. The placement is marvelous. Last year the average placement was 33.8 LPA for finals. More than 150 companies, including all the top names, visit our campus. More than 550 offers are made. There are a couple of steps involved in the placement process at IIM Bangalore, which are listed as follows:

Companies come to college to perform pre-placement talks, when they introduce themselves, explain the job roles, and answer students' questions.
Students must send their resumes to the companies they're interested in. Companies then shortlist individuals based on their resumes.
Shortlisting: Companies analyse resumes to select candidates for the next round, which may include group discussions (GD), written ability tests (WAT), and personal interviews. The criteria for shortlisting vary depending on the company’s requirements.
During the selection process, the company evaluates the candidate's communication skills, knowledge of the subject, attitude, and problem-solving skills.
Based on their performance during the selection process, companies offer jobs to individuals they want to recruit. Candidates have the choice of accepting or declining them.

IBS Bangalore has set up Career Management Centre which provides pre placement training, communication skills, workshops etc. There are 14% students who secure placements in Consulting Sector from IBS Bangalore.The prominent consulting firms which Capgemini Consulting, Brandscapes Worldwide, Creating Values Private Limited, Deloitte Consulting etc.

IIM Bangalore Placements 2024 is not yet released till now and the following data is for the 2023 placements. According to the 2023 final report, IIM Bangalore PGP & PGPBA's average package increased by 4.4% to INR 35.31 LPA whereas IIM Bangalore's highest package stood at INR 1.15 CPA (as per media reports). The PGP & PGPBA batch received 606 placement offers & 14 overseas offers. Most of the offers came from the Management Consulting sector (40%). Some of the top recruiters of IIM Bangalore Placements 2023 included Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, Accenture Strategy, Tata Consultancy Services, McKinsey & Company, etc.
