MY EXPERIENCE AT THE IIM BANGALORE AS A STUDENT

also they conduct time to time live session for the students who have doubts and other queries regarding the course or related to what we're studying in modules and there are clas that we have to give that are for the internals marks
we can't forget the exposure and experience that IIM Bangalore in general provides to all the students whether its for the PG students or the UG students they are really amazing and we love to interact with professors
I also loved one thing which is the experience that it provides and there are so many cases competition and there so many group project that we experience and gain knowledge from and also there is a program named agile coil

Dislikes

One thing I disliked is the fee structure it could be a little less like 2-3 lakhs but 4.5 lakhs for just an online degree is maybe too much
And also that we have some difficulty in interacting with other students of our same batch as we live very differently so it's one of disadvantages and the people who lives in Bangalore have the advantage of visiting the campus anytime

Admission:

The other college that I applied was for Shaheed Sukhdev College of business studies in Delhi University and I didn't get admission in that as i didn't had enough marks but I also applied for BMS course in so many Delhi University colleges but I choose this course and this college over other because this course BBA dbe is a new course and it really helps in everything that we need for our future jobs like everything in the market that is need like excel and web development and starting a venture so everything in this course really fascinates me as it is new and it will provide us so many new opportunities as this is a new batch and the Delhi University ones the course didn't really excite me that much. I did get rejected from the other college which was only one college Sukhdev College of business studies and I didn't make it there because the cutoff was very high and I got marks of 710 out of 1000 and to get into the college we have to get 760 + according to this year cut off so that's why I didn't got into that and that went wrong I didn't get admission because of some marks and admission process of our college is very simple we have to do registration and after the registration we have to pay 3000 rupees and we have a entrance test also but we can also get admission on the basis of CUET marks of this year or previous years and one basis of JEE marks from this year or previous years and and the eligibility of the entrance exam is 50% for our exam entrance exam is of 60 marks and we have to get minimum of 50% to pass this course and to get into this course but for SC ST candidate it is 40% passing criteria and the entrance exam is what is preferred by the most of the student because they don't know the cutoff for cuet and jee and they prefer entrance exam on that and after that have to pass the entrance

I applied for many colleges like iim indore and iim jammu but didnt get the chance to catch up there. I also had the opportunity to pursue even offline bba through mhtcet but this was far better than normal bba coz i dont have to travel 4 hours daily to college and you get the amazing alumni status of iim bangalore after completing this course

I liked the campus of IIMB. The 100 acres of campus filled with lush greenery offers a perfect solace to your mind whenever you take a stroll around. This coupled with architecture of Shri B.V. Doshi makes it The Place to B.
IIMB provides you with all basic amenities like a fully equipped sport complex having badminton court, swimming pool, gym. A big open playground for outdoor sports. Apart from that we have laundry, salon, and hospital facilities on campus.
The teaching faculty at IIMB is top notch. It comprises of professors who have passed out from reputed world wide institutions. Their teaching pedagogy with the relevant case discussions provides breeding ground for future leaders.

Dislikes

Letting people in on your secrets to success may feel like networking, building bonds, can easily backfire here.

Admission:

The admission process of IIMB is done via Common Admission Test (CAT). Students need to clear the minimum cutoff percentile in 3 sections ( VARC, LRDI, QUANT) and also the total. Then IIMB issues interview call for the shortlisted candidates. Followed by which students are called for personal interview a writing assessment test. After the entire procedure a composite score is generated comprising of several factors including - 10th,12th and graduation marks, gender and academic diversity, work experience, CAT score, and interview marks. Finally offers are rolled out to top candidates. I choose IIMB over other B-Schools because of its legacy in education facilities, vast alumni network, and startup incubations. Being situated in the silicon valley of India there are also numerous networking opportunities here.

AS WE KNOW IIMB is one of the top B schools of india , what i like the most about this is the richness of the education that we receive from the world class professionals. and the structured way of learning and other activities provided by them .
Diversity that it provides is so intimidating, we grt students from all over the india which help us connect and empathise the culture that our nation has . We find like minded students and groww with them together.
Brand name . As we know iimb is the top notch college we are so much admired and valued wherever we go just because we are the alumnus of iimb . we are also offered high paying salaries once we finish our education from this college.

Dislikes

First thing about this bba dbe degree all need to know is that this is the online course which means we don’t have any access to the inside campus as of now.
The course structure iis so rigorous which leaves you with little time for other activities.
As I am in the first batch of this degree , we are left out on lots of things which are needed to be improved by the iim B team,.

So my story, as i was preparing for IPMAT examination and other B school entrance examination after 12th , my story would be inspiring for lots of students.. so as i completed my 12th i went to delhi for my ipm preparation and did my coaching at Ipm careers. I applied for IIM RANCHI , IIM JAMMU IIM BODHGAYA , IIFT KAKINADA, IIM ROHTAK , AND IIM INDORE TO BE SPECIFIC. other than these i applied for other b schools such as NALSAR IPM PROGRAM, CHRIST , symb., TAPMI , NIRMA University etc . So after my examination i realised that i couldn't make into iim indore by 7 marks that was so disappointing for me. but luckily I converted into NALSAR IPM AND NIRMA AND TAPMI UNIVERSITY .But for graduation , these colleges were so coslty and didn't fir my budget . I was so much in turmoil and depressed by this as i prepared for a whole year as a drop year . BUT by this time we got an supper amazing news that IIM BANGALORE , the pioneer of management colleges in india, started its BBA program although it was an online program. so i prepared for the examination which they conducted named as bba dbe examination. I scored 45/60 which were decent as it was conducted for the first time . general category cut offs were somewhat around 35~ and for other categories below 30 . I was so happy that i got into this course as this was by IIM B . Name says everything by itself . But i prepared hard for this but the examination level was quite easy i would say , but from the next year onwards , things might change as the competition will increase.

A College Where Dream Begins

The faculty is highly experienced, Students are given extra classes for chapter which requires special attention
It has amazing infrastructure, Multiple facilities are available for students like labs, computing systems etc.
Placement drives are held every year where final year students gets to participate in it.

Dislikes

During final year placement some students didnt even get any internship during placement drive.
As they have less seats the competition is very high.
Some rules are useless in campus and it is well organised university

Admission:

The eligibility of the course is you must have completed your graduation with a 60+ percentage and the CAT exam is also a must. I found the application form, fees, and important dates on the official university website. Exams are held every 5-6 months and the difficulty is moderate. The admission process can be made easy which will help students while applying for the university.

Admission:

The admission process at IIM Bangalore is one of the smoothest out of all B-Schools nationwide. Eligibility for the course includes a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university, a minimum academic score of 60% or an equivalent CGPA throughout graduation and work experience which is not mandatory but highly favourable. There is no separate application form, fees or dates but when you register for CAT or GMAT, you can fill up the option for the IIM Bangalore. IIM B reserves seats for various categories including SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD. The admission process starts after you get shortlisted for a PI with the college, the call is based on different criteria including CAT scores, academic scores, work experience, academic and gender diversity. For the PGP, PGP-PPM and PGP-BA courses of IIM Bangalore, the overall CAT 2023 cutoff is 99 percentile (for general category). As for the sectional cutoff, it is 80 percentile for all the three courses, in VARC, QA as well as DILR. As for SC candidates, the cutoff is 70 percentile overall, and it is 70 percentile for each of the sections as well.

First of all, bear in mind that there is never a 100% certainty of getting a call from a specific interest as there are many factors that determine it.

Considering your profile that lacks work experience and has witnessed a decline in the graduation marks, I don’t consider anything below 99.9 to fetch you a call from institutes like IIM Calcutta, Lucknow, Bangalore, and Ahmedabad. All these institutes only accept the best profiles and high scores. So unless you score a perfect 100, it will be difficult to get admission here.

I have scored 85% in my 10th board and 77% in the 12th board. Is it possible for me to get admission in IIM Bangalore or in any IIM college if I score good in the CAT?

Honestly speaking, your academic record is average and even a very high percentile might not necessarily be enough to get a call for admission.

IIM Bangalore especially focuses a lot on Past Academics. In the initial shortlisting, the 12th and 10th marks are given 15% weightage each which combined is quite a lot. During the final shortlisting, 10th and 12th marks are given 10% weightage each. So the only thing you can do is

Work really hard and score a very high CAT percentile, something around 99.5+
Target other IIMs
Performance during the Personal Interview

You can go for other top B Schools like FMS and XLRI who give very little importance to past academics.

Yes, IIM Bangalore accepts GMAT scores. The admission to the EPGP Program is made on the basis of GMAT scores. Instead of GMAT, you can also take admission via GRE scores.The quality of work experience, performance in the interview and writing ability test are also considered.

IIM Shillong has the lowest cutoff among all the IIMs. This year IIM Shillong final cutoff is expected to be 90 percentile. The highest cutoff around 99 to 100 percentile is of IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta.
