Gulbarga University was established in the year 1980. There are about 305 colleges affiliated to GU which enrol graduate or diploma courses in arts, fine arts, music, social sciences, science & technology, commerce, education and law.
Gulbarga University’s BA program offers 20 subjects to students. Gulbarga University BA Eligibility Criteria
- The candidates who wants to apply for BA courses need to have studied commerce or arts subject in their class 12 exam and should have 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC)
- They must have English as a Compulsory Subject.
- To secure a seat in GU, the candidates must meet the Cut-Off Marks laid by the affiliated colleges of Gulbarga University.The students can go on for the admission process once ensured they meet the cut off marks in a particular subject.
Gulbarga University BA Admission Guidelines
The admissions for UG level courses is done on the basis of merit of 10+2 level examination.
How To Apply?
To get admission to the UG courses offered by university the applicants will have to wait for the release of the merit list. The list is generally released by the university authorities and are usually available on the official university website only.
- First of all, you need to visit the official website of university; www.gug.ac.in
- Click on the Apply Online option given under the Admissions Menu.
- Fill in the application form by providing correct credentials and submit it.
- Applications for UG level courses can be filled by paying an application fee of INR 600. For students from a reserved category, the fee is INR 300.
- The application fee will be sent via DD in favor of Gulbarga University.
- Take a print out of filled application form and send it along with DD and required documents via post to GU.

Counselling Process
It is the last process to get admission in the university. All those students who have their name on the merit list are called to the college/ university and their documents (Aadhar Card, and other education related documents) are checked by the university officials.
If any student could not attend the counseling round then his seat will be allotted to the other student.
GU releases a separate date and application form to offer admission in UG and PG courses.
To apply for a seat in the desired course the student needs to visit the official website of the university , download the form and take its print out.
After completion of the application form the students can submit it by paying the application fee through DD.

Gulbarga University offers Ph.D courses in various disciplines including History. To get admission in this course, you must have a masters’s degree in History from a recognized university with at least 55% marks in aggregate. Admission is based on the merit of the entrance test and personal interview conducted by the university. Students who have qualified for NET / SLET / GATE / JRF / M.Phil are exempted from the entrance examination.
