Teaching here is top notch , the faculty is highly experienced and there are teaching assisstents too which help us in understanding the concepts really well
Placements of iit mandi are great and more than 400 companies including top companies like amazon, google, microsoft etc.
Good thing is that college provides scholarship for economically backward students .

Dislikes

There is a lack of proper course layout, examination systems and management
Branch change- from 2024 onwards there will be no branch change . i think its bad decision as it was giving opportunities to the students to change their branches if they dont like the course structure .
Faculty: some faculty are very rude to students and grading is relatively tough.

IIT MANDI

Likes

I like the surrounding fresh air, mountains
Hostel facilities are very nice and well settled
Course circulium is also quiet good because there are many free electives

Dislikes

You always feel cold here menas you have to take proper precautions
In August - December there always landslide

Placement Experience:

The placement is very good. For in m.sc mathematics highest package of 2500000. And the lowest package is 600000. In our class, 30 students out of 44 got placed. Thats why I think after IIT Guwahati for m.sc placement is IIT mandi best.

All about IIT Mandi

Likes

Infrastructure is very good. Weather is amazing there. Nature is at its fullest.
Campus life is amazing. There are many clubs and societies where you can explore.
Mess facility is great. There is a lot of variety in the food which mess daily offers.

Dislikes

Weather in winter at IIT is always so chilled.
Located in hilly region of Himachal Pradesh which may not suit for everyone.
IITs are known for their rigorous academic programs which may be challenging for many.

Placement Experience:

Students of Msc. can get placement in the corporate sector as well as in the teaching field ( i.e. in schools, and teaching institutions ). This year there is a recession in the USA so the number of students getting placed in the corporate sector is quite less than the students who got placed in the teaching field but there are sufficiently large numbers of students who got placed.

Likes

The wheather and chilling with friends in late inghs.
The faculty mamber are gentle and have good teaching skill.
Overall IIT Mandi is good and its location is amazing

Dislikes

The rain is so random it is irritating part.

Placement Experience:

In Masters, After completing the second semester students are eligible to take placements. Akash BYJU's, ALLEN Career and FIITJEE, Axtria, Decision Point, Amazon, And so many companies are here for hiring students. And Highest package of our class is 25 lakh per year in FIITJEET maths. And out of 45 students those who want placements are got placed(30 students) some of us want to do PhD and other things.

Likes

I like the campus very much, infrastructure is excellent, it is surrounding the campus situated between the mountains and side by of river.
10 dispose facility in the campus very very good you can find this separate ground for every sports and and coaches are very good
The facility are very easy to reach you can ask every problem whether it's related to academics for your personal life.

Dislikes

I dislike the attendance criteria in the hostel .
The market from the institute is 16 km away that is very problematic.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose MSc mathematics because have a huge amount of interest in mathematics from the being. The faculty-student ration is good, you don't have to worry about that. All faculty are very well qualified and have done their PhD form very well-satisfied institutes and their technical teaching is very good for every student. Exams are on time, there is no delay and the difficulty level is moderate.

After the second semester, the students become eligible for placements. And there are many companies in the IT sector and education field. Coaching and school axteria, tcs, virtusa. For different companies, there are CGPA criteria. But most companies do not have any criteria.

Place: people who love mountains should take this college.
Climate: the climate is very good here, always cool most of the times
Studies: faculties are great at here and supportive.

Dislikes

Unexpected rain is one might hate. You should always carry an umbrella.

Placement Experience:

We have very good placement options. our CnPC cell members work very hard to get companies on campus. Almost everyone who wanted placement was placed in my batch. Others wanted to pursue higher studies. So many companies come here like Amazon, paytm, IBM, Allen, Aakash, fiitjee, Axtria, etc. Around 80-90 per cent of students get placed on avg till the completion of the course.

Best college with best view

Likes

The soothing weather with pure air. The view you get waking up every morning of griffon hill.
Badminton courts were my favourite. There are total 11 courts of badminton where you can play, 2 gym, 3 basketball courts, 4 vollleyball courts.
The mess is CoEd so we can eat with our friends, no separate messes are there for boys and girls. Every one can eat together day and night.

Dislikes

The landslides that occur between north and south campus.
The low budget of the institute for the cultural fests.
No nearby shopping mall or theatre or cloth market.

Placement Experience:

The placement is very good. This time Mathematics department of IIT Mandi got the highest placement among all the IITs. The average package seemed to be 10 lakhs. Even mine is 11.5 lpa CTC as a project engineer trainee.

The infrastructure of the college is awesome. The campus is beautiful.

Remarks:

Campus environment, Remote area, Student activities, career services, on-campus facilities & amenities, accommodation facilities, academic major available etc. that's all factors come in pictures when choosing a college.

Remarks:

The location is quite remote, the only way to entertain urself is by friends. There are no malls and hanging places in city. They have only Domino's as a MNC food outlet. The overall facilities in the college is Very good. The staffs are really very very helpful. The campus is Very safe. The mess good is above average.

Remarks:

The most important positive remark is the location of the institute which exponentially increases its value. It truly helped me with personal growth. Negative remark would be that the institute is new which also comes with its own challenges.

I have gone through the faculty profile given on the official website of IIT Mandi. It looks similar to that of all newly established IITs, except for IIT Gn and IIT H, which are better than the others.

One of my friends is also a student of the Mechanical branch at IIT Mandi. Most of the faculty members in the Mechanical branch are married couples. One of them got a job here and after that, they recommended their spouses.

In terms of research, the branch is not that good. Most of the faculties just mug up a research paper and publish a new one. One of the faculties became associate by doing the same. If you want to pursue higher studies in Mechanical, then don’t choose IIT Mandi.
