A complete overview of IIM Rohtak

Likes

The opportunities they provide to the students even for the under graduate in terms of internships.
Peer groups here are very good because everyone here have some kind of uniques knowledge and skills.

Dislikes

Hostels here are not that good because its four sharing and a but conjusted.
Student council have dissolved all the clubs and communities because our senior batches had don something wrong without permission.

Internships Opportunities:

Reliance, Aditya Birla Group, Berger, Bajaj, collegedunia, Reliance, etc. Average stipend offer was 99.1k, highest stipend was 2.5 lakhs. And the average was increased by 38% from previous summer placements. Currently As I am in my first year second term so I didn't know much about what roles get offered to them.

The curriculum is surely rigorous, especially in the last 10 days of a term.

Admission to Convocation

The infrastructure of the academic block was impressive, with well-designed classrooms and a spacious library.
The hostel rooms were equipped with air conditioning, hot water facilities, and there was a shared common area in every flat with space for cooking.

The college is situated outside the Rohtak city and there is no market nearby. Also the transportation to the city was bit of a problem.
The hostel rooms were double sharing, they were apt for single person but for two people the rooms were not enough. Also there was space for just one almirah in room we had to share it.

Placements at IIM Rohtak occur on a rolling basis, with companies visiting the campus throughout the year, from as early as August until March. Despite the placement committee's best efforts to secure opportunities for every student, challenges arose due to the increased batch size. The committee worked diligently to provide numerous opportunities for all students. However, concerns about the upcoming recession and a downturn in the market affected the offered CTC (cost to company) and the number of hires, even from loyal recruiters. As a result, the outcomes did not meet the expectations of many students compared to previous batches. During SIP time, some students had to find internships on their own too.

IIM Rohtak - A fantastic experience

The brand and culture of the Indian Institute of Management is beyond anything. They are the example of finest B Schools in India
The rigour is tremendous and completely transforms you

Location - Campus is located 15 km outside of city limits
The hostels in first year are on sharing basis

Internships start from June every year and companies from varied sectors start vsiting. Most of the internships are paid and has to be joined in April- May next year. Internships are mandatory part of coursework

The location is away from city centre might not be ideal for everyone
The travelling expense from city to college is high

Students typically become eligible for campus placements starting from 4 semesters of their program, 100% placement record for the PGP batch, average CTC 18.73, overall 120 companies participated including 45 new recruiters

Projects are related to all the fields and are not mandatory but a very good opportunities to consider and they usually take tests/GD and interviews for selection and you have to work on the specific feild mentioned in job specification.

IIM Rohtak experience

It is quite close to Delhi NCR so it is easy for students from Delhi to commute for vacations

Some unnecessary rules are imposed on students making the environment quite toxic, so it does not go well with the spirit that MBA college should have
There is not a single canteen in the campus, there is only one small Nescafe which closes at 10pm and offers small number of items

As IIMs are led by students so placement are managed by Placement committee which is formed though rigrous selection process. Decent amount of companies visit the campus and students get good placement.

There are list of live projects and other opportunities offered by various clubs and communities here the projects are mainly 3 to 4 months long and and give you a practical experience of how things work and how different industries work

peers, cirriculum, learning, facilities in class

placements are not upto the mark, placement committee is not so great
sports facilities are too much below expectations

only 20% of the internships offered are great. otghers offer low stipemd, negligible learning. The internships we get can be secured by even a non graduate with stipend as low as 8k per month. 80% internshis are of marketing and sales role.

Infusion which is a 3 day cultural activity which brings students together through fest, competitions, performances, and celebrations. Active participation in student clubs is suggested which creates a jubiliant environment. Hostel life and informal interactions entails a supportive network among students.
