Is CUET mandatory for JNU PG admission 2026?

Yes, CUET PG 2026 is mandatory for all MA, MSc, MCA, MTech, MPH, PG Diploma, and ADOP admissions at JNU. JNU does not conduct a separate entrance test for these programmes. MBA uses CAT and PhD uses NET or GATE instead of CUET.

What are deprivation points at JNU and who qualifies?

Deprivation points are bonus marks added to a candidates CUET CBT score before the merit list is prepared. Women candidates receive 5 points. Kashmiri migrants receive 5 points. Defence wards (parent killed in action) receive 5 points. Candidates from rural or backward districts receive points based on their districts development quartile. The maximum is 12 points in total. Deprivation points do NOT apply to MBA admission.

Is there a viva voce for JNU MA or MSc admission?

No. JNU does not conduct any viva voce or interview for UG, MA, MSc, MCA, MTech, PG Diploma, or ADOP programmes. Selection is entirely based on CUET score and deprivation points. Viva voce is conducted only for PhD admission, by the Departmental Research Committee.

Can final-year students apply for JNU PG and MBA admissions?

Yes. Final-year undergraduate students may apply for JNU PG programmes and MBA. They must submit qualifying degree marksheets by the deadline set by JNU after admission. If documents are not submitted on time, the admission is liable to cancellation.

What is the JNU PG application fee for 2026?

The JNU PG application fee is INR 2,000 for General, OBC-NCL, and EWS candidates. SC, ST, and PwD candidates pay INR 1,000. The same fee structure applies for MBA. The CUET PG or CUET UG registration fee is separate and paid directly to NTA.

Yes, you are eligible to apply for admission in the MA History program of JNU if you have completed your B.Tech degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate. Admission is based on the merit of CUET PG. You must register and take this examination with History as your domain subject.

Yes, you need to appear for entrance exam which is conducted by the University itself. The eligibility criteria for admission is a bachelor's degree from recognized University.
