What is the fee structure at IIIT Delhi?

IIIT Delhi charges its students semester-wise. The fee structure for the B.Tech 2023 batch is described below- The tuition fee for AY 2023-24 is Rs. 4.50 Lakhs. This is the fee for Indian students and B.Tech. DASA (CIWG) students. You’ll be paying Rs. 2.25 Lakhs per semester. Rs. 12,000 extra will be charged during admissions. This will include Rs. 10k Security Money (Refundable) and Rs. 2k Alumni Fee. For single-seater hostel rooms, you’ll pay Rs. 42,500 per semester. For double-seater rooms, the cost will be Rs. 32,000 per semester. The mess charges will be Rs. 3350 per month. A refundable security deposit of Rs. 10,000 will be charged when opting for a hostel. It’s not compulsory to opt for the hostel. The tuition fee increases by 10-15% each year. Hostel fee also increases by some amount every year. This is the complete fee structure for B.Tech students joining IIIT Delhi during AY 2022-2023.

What is the way to pay such a high fee for an M.Tech in IIIT Delhi for a poor student?

If you are opting for an M.Tech in CSE/ECE from IIIT Delhi, consider the course fee as a one-time investment. This course and college have a huge ROI, given that you work really hard during these two years. The course will cost you somewhere around Rs. 5-6 Lakhs (including all the charges). With an educational loan, you’ll be repaying around Rs 5,70,707 in total (approximately). If you get in through GATE, you’ll get a stipend of Rs. 12,400 per month, which is Rs. 2,97,600 in total. If you spend around 5000 per month, you’ll still save Rs. 1,77,600 from your stipend. So your loan will come down to Rs. 3,93,107. If you grab a package of 20+ LPA, you’ll get a base salary of Rs. 10-12 LPA. This means an in-hand salary of around Rs. 70-80k per month. Try to save Rs. 40,000 per month. By doing so, you’ll pay your loan within a year. Try to be mindful of your savings, and you’ll comfortably sail through.

Which should my daughter choose, a CSE from IGDTUW or a ECE from NSIT/DTU/IIIT Delhi?

The choice between CSE from IGDTUW and ECE from NSIT/DTU/IIIT depends on the goals of your daughter. If she is planning to pursue higher studies like MS or a Ph.D., then IIIT Delhi is a decent choice as it’s a research-oriented college. But if she is looking for a job, then IIIT Delhi will offer limited opportunities. This is because getting a job in Core ECE companies like Western Digital and Qualcomm is not easy, as these companies prioritize master students. A few talented students do get placed in Software firms. In IIIT Delhi first year is the same for both CSE and ECE during which the students are taught Introduction to Programming, System Management, Computer Organisation, Data Structure, and Digital Circuits. Your chances of placement also depend on your CGPA which should be preferably above 7. IIIT Delhi offers the flexibility to choose the CSE courses, provided that you complete the minimum credits requirement in the last two years of B.Tech for the degree. In all, I feel, that NSIT and DTU will offer great job opportunities because of their brand name but IIIT Delhi will teach you new things and also offer research opportunities So it’s best to go for NSIT or DTU or IIIT Delhi. Choose wisely.

Both GATB and GATE students will receive scholarships but there is a fee difference from GATB it's 92000 for the entire course while for GATE its 3.81 Lakhs. also, the stipend has a difference the GATB students receive 12000 while GATE receives 12400 per month for 24 months.

The college does not have any scholarship program. But students can opt for education loans and college admission staff will help them out during the education loan process. Students who have qualified GATE exam are provided with a stipend by AICTE of Rs. 12500/- approx.

Awesome life time experience at IIITD

They have the facilities to provides very good scholarships to students to study in different foreign universities, like for girls they have Anita Borg Scholarship. Yes, they can provide the facility to pay the fee by bank loans as well, ice on the cake is that If a students tops in the Entrance Exam for the IIITD they can waive the fee for whole the course with the condition that student stays with the university for whole two years of course duration and do the addition Teaching Assistant Work.
