IGNOU PhD Education Eligibility

The students who have Masters Degree in the field of education or equivalent will be eligible to do PhD in Education From IGNOU.

IGNOU PhD Education Admission Criteria

Students should have a minimum of 55% marks in their Masters and 50% marks for the non-creamy layer, differently-abled and other category of candidates in accordance with the decision of the UGC from time to time. The students are also required to qualify in the entrance exam conducted by IGNOU at the national level.

IGNOU PhD Education Admission Guidelines

The selection is done on the basis of the written test followed by an interview. Applications found suitable for admission will be called for the entrance test. Shortlisted candidates on the basis of their performance in the written test will be called for the interview round. Offer letters for admission will be sent to the Selected Candidates only.

Note: Candidates holding M.Phil. Degree (along with course work and dissertation both) or those candidates who have cleared NET (conducted by UGC/ CSIR/ ICAR) or any other equivalent examination will be exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test.

Entrance Test

The list of shortlisted candidates who will be required to appear for the Entrance Test will be displayed on the IGNOU website.
The admit card will also be released on the official website of IGNOU one week prior of the exam date.
Candidates must bring their admit card to the exam center, else they will not allow sitting for the written test.
Applicants have to bring an original identity proof having a photograph, such as Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card, Driving License, Passport and ID card at the examination center.
Students must score a minimum of 50% marks in the entrance test to qualify the exam.
The Entrance Test will be held in 13 cities.

Interview/ Presentation

Qualified candidates in the written test will be called for interview round/ Presentation.
Offer letters for admission will be sent to the Selected Candidates only.
