The admission process for the course requires an online application, followed by group discussions and a personal interview (GDPI). Eligibility is determined by scores from the ATMA exam. The faculty at MIT is well-qualified, with most holding Ph.D. degrees, and they provide strong support to students both personally and professionally. The course is structured into four semesters, with challenging exams leading to a 50% fail rate per semester, causing many students to have backlogs.
The fees for the course are considered high, starting at 8.5 lakhs for a master's program, including exam fees and a 3-month internship. The MBA program costs 10 lakhs for two years, an increase from the previous 8 lakhs. Scholarships and fee discounts are available for students with high entrance exam scores, and full scholarships are offered to exceptionally bright students. Hostel fees add another 1,65,000 INR per year, along with mandatory exam fees of 3,000 INR each semester.
Placement opportunities begin in the 5th trimester, and internships start after the 2nd semester. Around 80% of students reportedly secure placements, although one report indicates only 30% of a batch of 1,200 students were placed. Over 500 companies visit the campus, with more than 200 job offers made, and the highest salary package ranges from 10 to 12 lakhs per annum. Internships, conducted between May and July, offer stipends of 10,000 to 15,000 INR.
Despite efforts to attract reputable companies, some concerns about bias, mismanagement, and limited opportunities have been noted.
