- One thing I really liked about my course at the University of Leeds was the frequency of networking and workshop events available to attend in a one-year course. These events not only helped students to connect with faculty outside course but provided a great platform to learn more about the current job market with discussions on relevant openings and trends.
Dislikes
- On the flip side, one thing I did not like much about the course was the short duration which meant there was lesser time to get started with academics and life in a new country while simultaneously stressing about the job market with early applications. Ideally, I would have loved to see more personal skills and networking based tasks involved in the curriculum but understand the limitations in a one-year course.

- Syllabus was relatively updated and relevant to the current data market. No direct industrial exposure or research experience was provided but the same was tried to be incorporated within the set curriculum.
- Classes went on for 3-4 hours per day, varying based on the student's personal schedule for the week. Average number of students varied from 60 to 150 depending on the elective or course.

It’s challenging, especially if you don’t have a strong background in math or coding, but the faculty provides a lot of support to help you keep up?.

- The course felt more introductory in the computer modules, but it was good enough in the math modules
- It was a good mix of both practical and theoretical material
- The pro of this course was that you develop good research habits and use your brain power even to solve the easiest problems. You rethink things in more depth with the courseworks and feedbacks they provide
- A con of this course was that it is very easy to get lost and they only introduce the topics but give difficult assignments.
- There are about 4 classes on average daily. And they are scarcely scheduled from 9am to 6pm
- The faculty there generally suggests not doing a part-time job until extremely necessary. Because the course is a little hectic.
- I admire my statistics professor; the way he explained the content went straight into my head, and his coursework was challenging enough to use a lot of my brain. I also admire my personal tutor for he was very supportive and understanding. My dissertation guide was also very polite and helpful.

- My course was pretty basic for someone who has already worked in the industry. As per examinations perspective it was written examination. Exams were easy but the correct was pretty tough. They never tried to pass someone in the examinations. Theoretically they don't deliver content in the class room. Everything is dependent on your personal interest. Practicals were there but it was optional so most of the time labs were empty.
- Positive is nothing much. Negatives are syllabus is outdated. They just fancy names in the subject.

- As mentioned earlier, there was no placement cell of the university. It held fairs but they weren't enough as they just helped discovering potential companies that a person can apply to. But without a dedicated placement cell, it becomes very tough for foreign students.
Course Curriculum
The curriculum was great with hands on experience in relevant code and non-code applications. It could have been better if they had added SQL as it a basic criteria for being a data analyst/scientist. You get opportunities to research/work with numerous industry partners across the UK during your dissertation period. The dissertation is structured in an appropriate manner which immensely helps you apply what you have learnt.
