My Master's at Uni of Hull Experience

Likes

The University campus is big and attractive. It has old as well as new architectural buildings.
Wide options of subjects available.
Professors are polite and helpful.

Dislikes

During my time, we had online lectures and we were going only 1 day in a week to attend practicals which was quite disappointing.
The syllabus did not cover the topic in the deep. It only gave high level knowledge.
The city is boring and quiet.

Accommodation

Off Campus

I used an online platform to find the accommodation. The monthly rent was 350 pounds.
STUDENTS might need a guarantor to rent a property.
Future students can see the online platform to rent. It will be easy and affordable.
The university was only a walkable distance from my accommodation. Hardly 500 meters away.
Most of the Indian students live nearby to the campus.

Skilled staff and teachers ,Change in way of learning
Different ways of learning and smart teaching

Nothing comes to mind as the process and way of teaching the students was exceptionally well and they made sure that every student gets the idea of the subjects to be studied and the process required with live examples

There is on campus accommodation at Singh residency in the university itself.
It's a building close by with the premises of the university.
Rent and everything was preincluded in the tution fees itself so it was really easy and smooth process
I would very much recommend this to the new joiners or future students as everything was convenient and they even had a mall and grocery store within the premises.

Library and the collection of resources
Experience of faculty members
Bloomberg terminals and access to other licensed software if needed

Dislikes

Ambience from the town center or major industries
Lack of exposure to North America in terms of learnings and applications
Labs not being 24x7

I took the on campus accommodation since I didn't trust external websites being in India for the UK. The annual fees for my accommodation was 8500 GBP which was fairly reasonable for the amenities included as wifi, electricity and water bills were all inclusive. Furthermore I got a good blend of people from different courses sharing the same kitchen so had a good chance to network alongside and relax after a days of study.
Most Indian students stayed off campus as it was relatively cheaper but then again they missed out on the opportunity to network and build friendships with people from all across the world. There are certain student accommodation letting agents once in town, people directly used them to secure off campus accommodation

Hull Uni, a short review on the Pros and Cons

Active students Union, events and sports activities
Engaging lecturers, good teaching quality and structured courses
Diverse and inclusive environment for all backgrounds

Dislikes

A small city, so lacks the buzz a bit
For full time jobs, we will have to move to other cities
Decent but not an exciting night life

Yes, again, online platforms are the best way to get good accommodation or word of mouth.
I used Unicom accommodations.They are pretty decent and good service. Would recommend them. Challenges is the service they offer after you get the accommodation.
Finding one is not that hard; there are multiple agencies that would help you.
