The University of Strathclyde is known for its strong academic reputation in fields like engineering, business, science, and data analytics. For the 2026 intake, the university primarily offers admission in the September intake, while a January intake is available only for selected postgraduate programs.

The University of Strathclyde does not publish an official acceptance rate, but estimates from various third-party sources place it at around 42%. Students with a solid academic background and a well-prepared application generally have a good chance of securing admission.

For undergraduate programs, students are typically expected to score around 70-75% in Class 12 and must apply through the UCAS portal. For postgraduate programs, applicants should have 55-60% in their bachelor’s degree from a recognised university and can apply directly through the university’s official website.

After receiving an offer letter, students are required to pay a tuition fee deposit to confirm their seat. Once the admission is confirmed, the university issues a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), which is essential for applying for a UK Student Visa. After visa approval, students can proceed with accommodation booking and travel arrangements before starting their academic journey at the University of Strathclyde.

Scholarship

  • I did not receive any scholarship, as I was late with the application. Every international student can apply for a scholarship that would be mentioned on the University website. They'll be awarded an amount between 3 and 5 lakhs based on their SOP written for the same purpose. Yes, my friends received 3 lakhs and 4 lakhs, respectively. There's no average count of students receiving scholarships until you apply on time and your SOP stands out.

Overview

Overall experience was above average. I chose this university because it was offering me a degree in the field of Quantitative finance without any hard entry requirements (Like a high GRE score or a BSc in Mathematics or computer science).

Overview

The course offered was the first of its kind. A one-year Master's program that allowed me to continue working as it was part-time and distance learning. I always wanted to study law, but as I had pursued the sciences, I did not think it would be possible. The University of Strathclyde provided me with this amazing opportunity and I wasn't going to turn it down. The faculty was exceptional, and the overall learning experience was truly wonderful. My classmates were from different parts of the world and their knowledge and personal experiences with tackling climate change issues added to my learning.

Scholarship

I got the Goa Education Trust Scholarship (British Council of India), which partially covered my tuition with £11,000. Along with the scholarship application, my school transcripts, and recommendation letters from both University and then employer, I had to attend an interview.

Scholarship

I have received Faculty of Engineering Excellence Scholarship. There's no fixed amount which students receive and depends on the course. This requires a letter of motivation as well. I had attached LoRs in my application
