Colleges Where I Was Accepted

Reason for choosing my college

  • Liverpool is one of the best cities for students with great parties, culture and diversity. The city center and the university are not much far, and they are within walking distance. People are friendly, and the overall vibe of the city is beautiful and aesthetic.

Colleges Where I Was Rejected

Reason for Rejection

  • Oxford has prerequisites that are essential for the course I chose, and I didn't meet them. I come from a non-technical background and wanted to do my master's in tech, but Oxford doesn't have courses that they accept from non-technical backgrounds.

Tips to enhance your application

  • Include your skills such as organisational and communicational from extracurricular not only academics, make sure that you mention education is just a part of your life and its not everything you want to. Have international exposure and increase your networking internationally.

Admission Experience

  • The UK is a good country for international students because of its mixed and diverse culture, all the universities are top rated, and their reputation and rankings are among the top 50 around the world, the University of Liverpool is in the top 10 in the UK and offers many courses for STEM and non-stem.
  • The student advisory team offers suggestions and helps students in their job search upon graduating. The uni also has a lot of sports clubs they encourage students to join. My overall experience in Liverpool has been good. I met new people in university and had a healthy lifestyle, playing sports and eating amazing food.

Class Schedule

9

  • The class schedule depends on your course and the subjects you pick, I used to have 1 or 2 classes on Monday and Tuesday with each class for 1 hour and from Wednesday to Friday I used to have 4-5 classes including labs, the average strength is around 200 per class and mostly 80 -90 percent would be Indians in courses such as Management and Computer science. For self-study and assignments, I would take 2 hours from my day.

Faculty

9

  • The faculty is good, teaching assistants are in ratio 1:30 per class, My programming lecturer is one of the best, I would say, because of his immense skills and way of teaching, he explains the subject top notch. No, the faculty members do not help the students in part-time jobs, but they will refer you if there are any projects that you want to work on.

Campus Life

9

  • Liverpool uni has two campus and two libraries one sports arena with gym and sport clubs the uni has alot of sport clubs and associations and they have event every weekend. I joined the boxing club, which runs after uni and is great for a full-body workout. Each club has a registration fee of 50 pounds, and for some clubs, you have to pay per session, and for some clubs, it's free.

Part Time Jobs

Most students work anywhere if they get an opportunity, and the average pay depends on the job. People who work at night get more pay, and on holidays, the pay increases. The process isn't hard; it's just that you have to be lucky and be consistent in finding a job because you don't want to miss out on an opportunity when it comes.

  • I guess part-time jobs are not that easy to get because of the lack of jobs and increase in students, the minimum usual pay is 11 GBP per hour and varies according to the job the uni has a lot of part-time opportunities in and around the university, students are allowed to work till 20 hrs during course time and 40 hours in holidays.

Placement

9

  • To find full time jobs students have to be consistent with their applications and they should apply 6 months before graduation and I would advise them to have experience and then opt for master's degree because the experience adds an value to their application, the avg salary is around 30,000 GBP and it depends on the job role. There are many websites, such as Gradcraker and LinkedIn, to find jobs.

Accommodation

Off Campus
9

  • Finding accommodation can be tough; initially I would advice student to check websites such as Amber Student, Right Move etc and opt for 8 months stay and when you finally understand everything over there and make friends, rent a house with our friends. Don't trust people from Facebook and WhatsApp groups; they can be spam.
