Course Curriculum

10

  • The course curriculum is very different from my home country, India.
  • It’s much more practical based here and everything relates to a case study or a practical example, including group discussions, debates, presentations, academic writing, et cetera.
  • The assignments are also quite tough and informative. And also based on thorough research on the respective topic.

Admission Experience

  • I Received confirmed admission offer letter from the following universities:
    • University of Bristol
    • University Of Leeds
    • Queen Mary University Of London
    • University of Birmingham
    • Cranfield business School
    • Oxford Brookes University
    • Goldsmiths, University Of London
  • Rejected—University of Edinburgh (maybe the reason could be that I applied so late (March)
  • So the admission process started with applying to the university with relevant documents, including my university transcript, graduation, degree, IELTS scorecard, passport, 10th and 12th class mark sheets, SOP, two letters of recommendation, one from professional work experience, if any, and one from an educational institution.
  • My IELTS score were 8, 7.5, 6.5, and 8 ( overall 7.5)
  • I received 50% of the tuition fee as a scholarship, so I did not have any second thoughts about using some other university over the University of Liverpool.
  • I applied to September 20, 2024 intake at around November 2023 with all of my documents and got offer letter in the 3rd week of December.
  • I received the scholarship around March 20, 2024.

Faculty

10

  • We have mixed classes based upon the modules that we have to study. So for example, there are 30 students studying international business management, and if they have a marketing management module, they will be studying with students having marketing management module, but in marketing master's course, so it’s a mixture of modules and courses.

Campus Life

8

  • There are a lot of extracurricular activities. Here the campus life is pretty good.
  • They have a lot of events and more than 50+ societies and functions.
  • Every day they have some of the other Kori activities related to sports, dancing, music, art, and crafts, et cetera.

Part Time Jobs

  • The maximum hour of work allowed legally is 20 hours for a student.
  • Part-time is not that easy to get because it’s very competitive. There are a lot of students are here but also since Liverpool is a tourist place.
  • They also have a lot of opportunities with part-time; however, due to the crowd, it’s very hard to get a job as an international student.
  • I don’t know about most Indians; it is quite difficult to get a part-time job because of the year. It’s very competitive here.
  • There are a lot of students applying to the same job as you and you have to send out among the crowd having a solid resume, which also you can get help from your career centre in your university, and apart from that, I personally would prefer working in a restaurant or a cafe or as a barista because it will only save your own time for cooking food at your own house after work because it usually gets so tiring.

Placement

8

  • They have career fairs almost every week and big companies like EY, Deloitte, Mondel?z, and L’Oréal come for career fairs.
  • They also have a graduation scheme that helps you get a job in hand before the graduation of your course.
  • The salary range usually starts from £30,000-£40,000 for masters degree and for undergrad, It’s usually at 20,000+ to £30,000.
  • I haven’t experienced any placement yet because it has just been two months.
  • There are a lot of opportunities here after graduation and even before because a lot of companies have graduation schemes, which are also very highly competitive.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

  • I chose a student accommodation, which is around 1.5 miles from my university, but it takes around 30 to 40 minutes by walking and 30 minutes also by bus, depending upon the time of bus arrival and departure. Also, there are a lot of signals that also delay the bus, usually.

Exams

  • There was no interview process.
  • Important documents necessary include CV, a statement of purpose and LOR
  • ALSO, I GOT A CONDITION OF A LETTER BEFORE SUBMITTING MY PHYSICAL TRANSCRIPT PICTURE.

Fees

  • About the fee structure, we are supposed to pay 60% of the total due fees, which is the total fee minus the deposit payment. That was £2000. So 60% of the total fees we have to pay before the first or second week of September. And then the rest we have to pay in around February.
  • After getting the unconditional letter, we have 28 days to pay a deposit and secure position in the university
  • About the cost of living, you can easily get any accommodation ranging from £90 per week to £200 per week, depending upon your lifestyle and the type of room that you want.
  • I personally recommend not going through any agent and rather searching for apartments or rooms on Spareroom because they are cheaper. Groceries are pretty expensive here as compared to India, but the weekly Expense is around £10-£40, depending upon your diet.
  • Non-veg is much cheaper here than some of the vegetables.

Scholarship

  • Yes, there are many scholarships available here. I received the ULMS excellence scholarship, which waived off 50% of my tuition fees. They have everything mentioned in their portal, including internal scholarships or external scholarships. The University of Liverpool has a lot of scholarship opportunities that students can apply for depending upon their course. Mostly, postgraduate students have better opportunities than undergrads.
