Course Curriculum

8

  • The University of Liverpool's academic curriculum offers a demanding yet doable experience by combining theoretical and practical components.
  • While the varied modules, access to state-of-the-art research, and helpful staff are positives, certain programs' high workload and lack of flexibility are drawbacks.
  • We usually run two to three classes a day, with times ranging from 9 AM to 5 PM and durations of one to three hours. Through personal networks or referrals, some faculty members help us obtain part-time or full-time jobs. Those that stand out are frequently interesting, personable, and interested in research mentoring.

Admission Experience

  • I have applied for 2 colleges :Queens Mary University of London & University of Liverpool.
  • I got acceptance letter from both colleges but I chose University of Liverpool. I haven't got rejection from any college which I applied for maybe because of my strong SOP and great score in my bachelor degree.
  • I chose university of Liverpool because of High world ranking for Master in Finance Programme.
  • First I need to fill application form with some documents such as : Bachelor degree transcripts, SOP.
  • I need IELTS score but I got exempted from that as I got issue medium of instruction certificate from my Bachelor degree college.
  • Amazing and hassle free admission process.
  • I applied for September Intake. The best time to apply for September intake is to start the process almost a year ago like I applied for September 2022, so best time is to start the process in October 2021 but I have taken decision very late and start the process in May 2022 which is quite late. But I got acceptance letter from university within 2 months. It will take almost 2-3 months for the whole process.

Faculty

10

  • In my course, there are about 55 students, with 12-15 being Indian. The majority, around 25, are Chinese, and there are also a few Nigerian and British students. We have a total of 12 faculty members across both semesters.
  • The teaching methodology is practical, and the course content, combined with the teaching approach, is sufficient to prepare you for a job in your field.
  • However, to truly secure a job, additional skills beyond the degree are needed, which can be acquired through platforms like Reed Courses at affordable prices.

Campus Life

10

  • The University of Liverpool has one main campus located in the city centre, along with specialized facilities like the Health Campus on Pembroke Place and the Hamburg Campus in Germany for business programs.
  • The campus features extensive facilities, including the Sydney Jones Library, a sports centre with a gym and swimming pool, and the Student Health Centre for medical services.
  • Major events include the Liverpool Student Festival, Welcome Week, and various cultural celebrations throughout the year.
  • Additionally, the university offers diverse extracurricular activities, such as sports clubs, cultural organizations, over 200 student societies, and volunteer opportunities, providing students with ample opportunities to engage socially and academically beyond their studies.

Part Time Jobs

  • On-campus there are very less oportunities available. But off camus part-time opportunities include Teaching Assistant (TA) with many students securing these based on academic performance.
  • The pay for TA positions typically ranges from £11 to £15 per hour. Other on-campus jobs which are very less in number like library assistants & administrative assistant typically range from £10 to £12. Student can work under 20hours per week.
  • Securing these jobs can vary in difficulty—TA may be more competitive due to academic requirements, while other opportunity like Retail assistant in store is easy to avail.
  • Students who work part-time jobs, such store assistant positions, usually make between £11 and £15 per hour. Depending on demand and area, finding a part-time job might be straightforward or relatively challenging.
  • Students typically begin the application process by looking for employment openings on university job boards or on local websites such as Indeed, Reed, and others, then creating a résumé and submitting applications. Interviews or skill evaluations may be necessary for some positions. Students might also locate opportunities by networking and going to career fairs.

Placement

10

  • I am aware that a sizable portion of students—typically between 40 and 50 percent—get full-time jobs within 6 to 8 months of finishing their courses.
  • Depending on the industry, graduates usually earn between £25,000 and £30,000 a year on average. Campus recruitment, internships, networking events, and internet job portals such as Indeed, Reeds, and Bright Network are some of the ways that students find employment.
  • Numerous classmates have landed jobs in accounting, auditing, data analysis, and consultancy.

Accommodation

Off Campus
10

  • I opted for off-campus accommodation that I found through the online platform Uniacco. My monthly rent is £650, which includes all bills, making it quite expensive, as it's a studio apartment with all the necessary facilities.
  • I found the search for accommodation challenging because you have to pay a deposit upfront at the time of booking, and it can be hard to determine whether the place is legitimate.
  • To navigate this, I reached out to students who are already living there and emailed the accommodation providers directly to gather more information.
  • My accommodation is a 15-minute walk from the university. I'm attaching a video tour link of my accommodation to help other students, as I don't have any pictures.

Exams

  • Generally IELTS is required for admission in University of Liverpool but I got exempt from IELTS exam as I Have submitted a document called medium of instruction which was issued by my bachelor degree university.
  • You just need to ask your university for that document and it will take almost 10-15 days to issue that certificate.
  • Yes, there is phone call interview but not for every student, they choose randomly I don't know on what basis so they haven't taken any interview for my admission but few of my friends gave that interview.

Fees

  • My Tuition fees is £24000 but i got scholarship of £5000 so i have to pay only £19000 for my University fees.
  • I have paid annual fees in one go but students also have the option to pay semester wise.
  • I haven't opt for University accomodation because its quite expensive.
  • I rented student accomodation which cost me arount £650 for rent includes bills and everything but since its a studio flat so its quite expensive and my food expenses are not more than £120 for a month.

Scholarship

  • Yes, I got scholarship for £5000 and there is some early bird scholarship as well which i cant able to opt in as I applied too late. The best time to apply is October then you can able to avail all kinds of scholarship option. There is one scholarship for commom wealth participating countries which I also got for £2500. There are complete list of scholarship available on website.
