Popular Courses and Fees at London Business School 2027
LBS is a graduate-only business school, so all listed programmes are Masters or MBA level. Tuition is a flat total for the full programme, not per year, and is identical for Indian and UK students. Programmes run 10 to 21 months depending on the degree chosen.
- The two-year MBA fee covers the full 15 to 21 month duration regardless of the exit point you choose.
- Masters programmes are billed once for the whole 10 to 16 month duration.

London Business School Admission 2027
LBS runs a single August intake for the MBA and Masters in Finance Full-time, and July-September starts for the specialist Masters. London Business School Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027
LBS applies uniform academic and English standards worldwide; Indian applicants clear the same bar as domestic UK candidates.
- Bachelor’s degree: Three or four-year bachelor’s from a recognised Indian university with CGPA 6.5/10 or 65% and above (recommended); official phrasing is a "good honours degree"
- English proficiency: IELTS Academic 7.0, TOEFL iBT 100, or PTE Academic 76 (or other accepted English tests where applicable)
- GMAT/GRE: All MBA and Masters applicants must submit a valid score under five years old; the MBA class average is GMAT 645 and GRE 160+ in both verbal and quantitative sections
- Work experience: 3-5 years for the MBA; 8+ years for the EMBA; the Masters in Management requires under two years
London Business School Acceptance Rate 2027
LBS is one of the most selective business schools in Europe. The reported MBA acceptance rate hovers around 20% (estimated), though LBS does not publish an official admit rate. Selectivity varies sharply by round and by nationality pool.
Indian applicants compete in one of the most crowded regional pools at LBS. A GMAT above the class median of #645, distinctive career progression and one referee from a current employer materially improve odds.
Reality check: An Indian applicant with a strong Class 12 record, top-tier undergraduate CGPA and 3-4 years at a recognised employer sits within the profile band. Below GMAT 640, applicants should either retake the test or apply in Round 1 to signal early commitment.

LBS estimates monthly living costs at GBP 1,300 to 1,500, though most Indian students living in central London Zone 1 or Zone 2 (the inner Underground fare zones ringing the campus) budget higher.
| Category | Monthly (GBP) | Monthly (INR lakh) |
|---|---|---|
| Accommodation (shared, Zone 2) | GBP 900 to 1,300 | 1.15 to 1.67 lakh |
| Food and groceries | GBP 250 to 350 | 0.32 to 0.45 lakh |

Insider note: Shared flats in Marylebone, Camden and Swiss Cottage cost 20% to 30% less than solo studios but still hit GBP 900+ per person. Indian students save the most by pairing with a fellow LBS classmate on a 12-month tenancy signed before September rent surge.

London Business School Campus, Facilities and Student Life
LBS sits on the edge of Regent’s Park in Marylebone, central London, with the main Sussex Place campus a five-minute walk from Baker Street Underground.
- Location and transport: Zone 1 central London; Baker Street tube connects five Underground lines; Heathrow reachable in under an hour
- Housing: No guaranteed on-campus accommodation; LBS Housing Services helps students secure private rentals in Marylebone, Camden and Swiss Cottage
- Facilities: Sammy Ofer Centre with case-teaching rooms, executive dining, quiet-study zones and Bloomberg terminals
- Indian community: Active LBS India Club runs recruiter events with Indian employers, Diwali dinners and pre-arrival mentoring for admitted students
What Indian students say: LBS’s Regent’s Park location cuts commute stress but central London rent is the biggest budget shock; sharing early and staying within Zone 2 is the standard strategy. The academic peer group is the most cited strength.
London Business School Scholarships 2027
LBS confirms over 50 scholarships each cycle and awards roughly GBP 22 million in aid. One India-specific award exists; several general awards are open to Indian applicants who apply in Round 1.
| Scholarship | Type | Award Value | Eligibility |
|---|---|---|---|
| London Business School India Scholarship | India-specific merit | GBP 35,000 (INR 44.86 lakh) | Indian national admitted to MBA; one award per year |

London Business School Placements and Career Outcomes 2027
LBS publishes one of the most detailed MBA employment reports in Europe. The Class of 2024 recorded strong hiring across consulting, finance and technology, with over 500 companies extending offers.
- Employment within 3 months: 87% of MBA Class of 2024 accepted an offer
- MBA mean base salary (Class of 2024): USD 116,465 (INR 97 lakh)
- Salary uplift post-MBA: 33% mean increase over pre-MBA base
- Top hiring industries: Consulting 42%, Finance 26%, Technology 21%
- Top recruiters: Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey and Company, Bain and Company, Amazon, JPMorgan, Google
- Post-study visa: Two-year UK Graduate Route work permission for all Indian MBA graduates
LBS suits Indian professionals with three to five years at a top-tier employer, GMAT above 640, and post-MBA ambitions in consulting or finance in London, Singapore or the US; the total investment of roughly INR 210 lakh is offset by a mean starting salary of INR 97 lakh and full UK Graduate Route visa eligibility.
It is not the fit for early-career Indian graduates without work experience (consider the Masters in Management instead), for candidates unwilling to fundraise beyond scholarship coverage, or for those prioritising India-based roles at graduation. In that last case, ISB Hyderabad is a realistic alternative with lower cost and stronger domestic recruiting.
London Business School FAQs
Ques. Does London Business School offer any undergraduate degrees?
Ans. No, LBS is a graduate-only business school and does not run any undergraduate programmes. The earliest an Indian student can join is the Masters in Management, designed for recent bachelor’s graduates with under two years of work experience. UG applicants targeting business at London campuses should shortlist UCL, King’s or LSE instead. All LBS admits must hold a completed bachelor’s at the point of matriculation.
Ques. Can Indian MBA students work part-time during their studies at LBS?
Ans. Yes, the UK Student visa permits up to 20 hours per week of paid work during term at LBS. Most MBA students take on internships between the first and second years rather than term-time roles, given the academic workload. Any work must not conflict with core module attendance. Off-campus employer engagement through the LBS Career Centre is encouraged from the first term.
Ques. Is a GMAT waiver possible for the London Business School MBA?
Ans. LBS does not routinely waive the GMAT or GRE for MBA applicants; all candidates must submit a valid score under five years old. Applicants can choose between GMAT and GRE with no institutional preference. The Executive MBA is the only programme where the admissions committee has discretion to waive the test for senior candidates. Indian applicants targeting the MBA should plan on a GMAT above 640 to be competitive.
Ques. What is the LBS application fee for Indian candidates?
Ans. The MBA application fee is GBP 200 (about INR 25,600) per application, paid online at submission. Masters in Finance Full-time carries a GBP 150 (INR 19,200) application fee. Fees are non-refundable regardless of outcome. LBS does not offer application fee waivers for general applicants; only serving military personnel and select Chevening finalists qualify. Indian applicants should factor this into their total application budget across school shortlists.
Ques. Which Indian banks offer education loans for London Business School?
Ans. All major Indian lenders recognise LBS as a Grade A institution. HDFC Credila, Axis Bank, ICICI, Avanse and Prodigy Finance offer collateral-free loans up to INR 100 lakh for LBS admits, subject to co-signer income and CIBIL score. Prodigy in particular does not require Indian collateral and lends against the LBS admit itself. SBI Global Ed-Vantage covers up to INR 150 lakh with property collateral at lower rates.
Ques. How long does the UK Graduate Route visa last after an LBS degree?
Ans. The UK Graduate Route permits two years of unsponsored work in the UK after completing an LBS Masters or MBA. This is a post-study work visa unconnected to any employer sponsorship. During those two years, Indian graduates can switch to a Skilled Worker visa if an employer sponsors them. LBS graduates in consulting and finance typically secure sponsorship within the first six months, extending their UK stay.
Ques. Does LBS require WES verification for Indian transcripts?
Ans. LBS does not mandate WES evaluation; applicants upload university-issued transcripts directly in the online application. However, admitted students must produce original transcripts and degree certificates before matriculation. Indian applicants from universities issuing English-medium transcripts can submit those directly. Applicants from state boards without English transcripts should arrange notarised translations to speed up the offer-conditional verification stage.
Ques. Can Indian LBS students bring dependents on the UK Student visa?
Ans. Yes, MBA and PhD students at LBS can bring a spouse and children on a Student Dependent visa, since the MBA is a full-time postgraduate programme of over nine months. Specialist Masters students are also eligible where the programme runs over nine months. Applicants must show additional maintenance funds of GBP 845 per month per dependent for London. Dependents on this visa have unrestricted work rights during the student’s course.

One has plenty of opportunities for internships and part-time projects during the term as well, which is an added benefit.
