Remarks

In the positive side bcet is a best college in terms of teaching, acdemic and sports. On terms of fine, they stike heavy fine to students if they are unable to miss a class due to some reason without application.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I think the courses are very good, but sometimes I feel they have to be more related to industrial based training than theory based training.in 4 years 8 exams are there. They also do internal exams like 3 in one semester.

Placement Experience

1.5

Yes stipend is given to the merit students. They giving placements, but these placements are not too good enough for a engineering student. And also there is too less placements.Interms of plcement this college is below average.

College Events

4.5

There are many events that are celebrated in our college.Like ganesh chaturthi, swaraswati puja, biswakarma puja are celebrated. Apart from this we are celebrating our college annual function every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible. We have to pay a years fee in 4 installments. Before internal we have to pay the first installment of the fee.It is very easy for us to give the money. But for some students it is very hazardous.

Fees and Financial Aid

No one didn't know anything about this. But they give facilities for available of loan for their studies. Students also take loan from their respective banks. It is a very good option for the students who are not able to give the college fee.

Campus Life

3.5

There are many extracurricular activities happend in our college including kabbadi, volleyball, football, cricket. Our college also organizing ladies cricket in our college premises. Apart from this badminton, chess, carrom, jabling throw are olso organized.

Hostel Facilities

2

No, I have not opted for a hostel because my home is very near to the college. Hostel infrastructure is very good. But the facilities are not very good. It is average. The hostel superitendent is very strict.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes senior students are very helpful. As I am now a alumni of this college. I am try to help students in their difficult times. Alumni network plays a important role in placement of students on different companies.

Admission

I got admitted by merit list.after completing my +2 I am applied for admission.when jee entrance exam went,I got selected in this college. The admission process is not too difficult. They just ask for photos and other certificates for admission process.

Faculty

3.5

Faculties are too good in terms of teaching. They are also very formal in personal lecture.overall faculties are good. They also help students in the difficult time of form filling or any other difficulties.

Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

Gandhi Engineering College (GEC Autonomous), Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Reviewed on Dec 22, 2025(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I mainly chose this course because the college is Autonomous, which allows them to update the syllabus faster than standard university colleges; seeing subjects like Python and Data Science in the early semesters really influenced my decision. The curriculum is decent for getting placed in service-based companies like TCS or Wipro since they focus heavily on the basics and aptitude, though for high-end product roles or research, you have to put in extra effort yourself. I definitely think they need to reduce the theory load and focus more on practical coding because sometimes it feels like we are just writing assignments instead of building things. Also, the junior faculty rely too much on reading from slides, which really needs to change to make classes more engaging. As for exams, it feels like we are always writing them since we have two internals and one end-semester exam per term. They are moderately difficult and the checking is strict, so you can't slack off, but the tight schedule can get quite exhausting.
