Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is quite good and easy to understand. Among all the subjects, I like Chemistry the most, and topics related to transition elements are my strong area. This subject increased my interest in the course and helped me understand concepts more clearly. I chose this course because I want to make my career in the teaching field, and the syllabus provides a decent theoretical base for that. However, this course is not very helpful in terms of jobs, internships, or skill development, as there are limited job opportunities after completion. There is scope for improvement in teaching methods, such as more interactive and practical-based learning. Exams are conducted twice a year on a semester basis, every six months. The exam pattern is manageable, and the difficulty level of the papers is moderate.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees depends on corse, for BSc amount=1920 No Admission fees Gora kanya dhan for all Sc, St, obc girls whose family any member not in government job amount =51,000 Students who passed semester exam with 75%+ for those students have Scholarship amount approx= 3to 400 monthly. College give an Scholarship for all students sc st obc students whose any family members not in government job amount =750 semester wise. Paper fees depends on corce. Not any external fees paired by students.
Campus Life
The college conducts fests but most of them are held outside the college which do not have much impact on the college campus. However, some fests like annual fest and junior fest are celebrated very well when the students come to college. I think these are held in March-April. Books for both competitive and academic subjects are available in the library. There are very few smart classes in the college. The labs are bad. There is wifi but not everyone gets access to it. Sports and extracurricular activities do not have much impact on the campus. Students and professors also run social groups. All the college related information is available on WhatsApp.
Admission
I applied in all these colleges like Pal College of Haldwani, Government College of Nainital, Almora, MBPG, Mahila College of Haldwani. I got the confirmation form from Pal College or Mahila College or MBPG. I chose MBPG because this college was near my home and the fees were very less here and the course I wanted to do was also there. After that I filled the form for the fitse Pal College and then I got the rejection form due to less seats. MBPG College Haldwani Admission process is based on Merit list. No separate exam is conducted. Merit list is prepared on the basis of 12th marks. Mainly 60+% is compulsory for BSc. Overall Admission experience was good. Seniors help a lot.
Faculty
MBPG College, Haldwani (Nainital) has a good academic environment with a sufficient number of experienced professors. The quality of teaching is generally good, and most faculty members are friendly, supportive, and approachable. They are willing to help students and clarify doubts whenever needed. I personally liked the Mathematics faculty, as the concepts are explained very clearly and in an easy-to-understand manner. The Physics department also has knowledgeable and helpful teachers who focus on conceptual understanding. The faculty–student ratio is balanced, with one teacher handling around 30–40 students. The syllabus is updated and maintains a good balance between theory and practical subjects. The course structure is relevant and suitable for students. The college follows a semester-wise examination system, with exams conducted every six months. The difficulty level of the exams is moderate and not too tough. The marking scheme is fair, and most students are able to pass the examinations. Only a few students fail, usually those who do not prepare well or do not attempt the answers properly. However, there is sometimes confusion in studies due to frequent changes in teachers, as different professors have different teaching styles. Also, some professors focus more on theory and do not practice or solve previous years’ question papers regularly, which can make exam preparation slightly challenging for students. Overall, MBPG College provides a decent learning environment with supportive faculty and a well-structured course.
Night Life
The college library closes at 3:30 and the college closes at 4 pm, the local area closes around 8 to 9 pm, our classes close at 2 pm, the college does not provide rooms, there is no hangout place inside the college, there is not much outside either, at night its not very safe
