Course Curriculum Overview

5

Relevance & Decision Factors I would rate the curriculum an 8.5/10 for its contemporary relevance. FFCS System: A major factor for many students is the Fully Flexible Credit System. It allows you to tailor your curriculum—for instance, a Mechanical Engineering student can take minor credits in "Prompt Engineering" or "Financial Analytics" to stay competitive in the tech-driven job market. Industry Focus: The curriculum is updated frequently. In 2026, there is a clear emphasis on Holistic Learning, where elective courses are structured to help you specialize in niche domains like Bioinformatics, Information Security, or Machine Learning. Application-Oriented: The "J-Component" (Project Component) integrated into most core subjects ensures that you don't just learn theory; you must build a prototype, code an application, or conduct a researc

Fees and Financial Aid

Caution Deposit: ?3,000 (Refundable one-time payment). Admission/Registration Fee: Usually included in the first-year tuition "total" during counseling, but some specific components like exam fees (~?1,000–?2,000) may be charged per semester. Lab & Development Fees: VIT includes these within the annual tuition fee; you do not have to pay them separately unless you are repeating a course. 2. Total Course Fees (4 Years) The total cost depends entirely on your rank-based category and group. Minimum (Cat 1, Group A): ~?6.95 Lakhs

Campus Life

5

Flagship Festivals (The Social Highlights) The social calendar is dominated by two massive international festivals that draw participants from across the globe. graVITas (Technical & Design Carnival): Held annually in September/October. It is one of India’s largest techno-management fests, featuring over 200 events, including international hackathons, drone races, and workshops led by industry giants. Riviera (Cultural & Sports Fest): Typically held in February. As an ISO-certified event, it is a four-day extravaganza of music, dance, and drama. It famously concludes with "Pro-Shows" featuring A-list Indian and international artists. 2. Infrastructure & Learning Facilities

Admission

The "JEE" Complexity: JEE Advanced requires a depth of problem-solving that favors those with long-term coaching. Many students are conceptually strong but struggle with the "trick" questions of JEE. BITSAT Speed Trap: BITSAT is a race. One can lose a seat not because they don't know the subject, but because they couldn't solve 130 questions in 180 minutes. The Negative Marking Factor: JEE and BITSAT punish guessing. For some, the VITEEE 2026 (which traditionally has had no negative marking, though some 2026 reports suggest experimental changes) feels like a "safer" environment to perform. The Admission Process (2026-27)

Faculty

Faculty Insight & Ratio Faculty-to-Student Ratio: The current ratio is approximately 1:13 to 1:15. While this sounds balanced, the sheer size of the student body (over 50,000) means that foundational classes can still feel massive. Approachability: Because you choose your professors, the relationship is often transactional but professional. Faculty members are generally accessible during "Counseling Hours" (specific office hours), but you must be proactive. Mentorship: For research or high-end projects, the quality of mentorship is exceptional, especially if you join a "Special Team" (like the racing or satellite

Night Life

5

the hostel gates close, the "Internal Nightlife" begins. The Periyar EVR Central Library: This is the most popular hangout spot after 8:00 PM. It remains open until 12:30 AM (Midnight). During exam seasons (CATs and FATs), it is packed with students, making it a surprisingly social environment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As this college is under mumbai university so this college cannot modify syallbus in their own the have to strictly follow the university prescribe syallbus, academic timelines, rules and norms of the mumbai university. I have taken the admission in this college in the year 2024 from this year the NEP-2020 was adopted by the every indian universities and instituites. Since NEP-2020 was adopted also by mumbai university some new subjects are added to the syallabus that are oriented to financial literacy,Entreprenuianl, indian laws related subjects the syallubus of this subject is very good to see in the syallabus pdf. But the ground reality is different this subject is not given much importance by faculties the are treated as not much important subject as their are not related to our course as a result the students also take these subjects lightly. Also the professors appointed for this subjects are not much good they appoint the faculties who are recent graduates of their college who are working now as a professor in the same college. The college treat this subject lectures as an practice for the fresh faculties to gain experience of how to teach students. The core subject syallbus is same not changed the mumbai university has just changed the name of the subject. The college professors just teach the subject but they do not teach in that way that it makes us ready for real world problems. And also in the first year all the subjects are common for all the branches of the engineering which consist of subject like physics, chemistry, mechanics,Basic electrical Electronics,Engineering Graphics. It is my opinion why should an student who is studying an course called Computer Engineering so why should i read the subjects of the other branches like civil, mechanical, electrical and electronics in my first year instead of my domain subjects for whole two semester and the timespan of almost an year
