Galgotias College Brutal Honest Review

I am from EC-VLSI branch. The course curriculum is well designed to cover beginner aspects. Although it contains much theory knowledge. Some of the parts of this syllabus curriculum needs improvement as there are old topics which are not useful now with industrial needs. Areas of improvements includes more work on lab subjects and modifying their experiments as per latest technical industrial needs. The timing of exams is very controversial here. All those things are handled by AKTU and it is very bad in terms of focusing of student's mindset.

Recently VISA came to our campus for internships specially for Galgotias. Other internships are also there. Stipend offered for Visa is around 50-80k. Apart from that there are other oppurtunities shared in college groups.

From 6th-7th Semester onwards, we are eligible for Campus Placements. Forms will be shared to us in official college groups. I don't have exact idea of total number of companies visited and offers made, but they are MANY. Mostly IT companies visit our campus, Core companies also visit but they are little less. Highest package is around 20-30 lakhs on campus. Averanhe package is 6 Lakhs per annum. Profiles offered are Trainee, Representatives, Etc. Their is more than 50% of chance to get placement here. My plan is to get a decent placement from this college and then by experience switch to better companies.

Galgotia college is known for its UNIFEST, Movie promotional events, MUNs, Guest Talks. They generally happen at the initial, mid and end of every year. GCET have a separate building for Library, Lot of books are there. They also have an Online system of Library resources for students which are beneficial for us. Within the classroom, digital boards are there with ACs and big classrooms with WIFI connections. Sports and extracurricular acitvies are very good. Recently our college organized AKTU sport Zonals. There is big green ground in our campus for these acitvies. Also there are 10-12 CLUBs in our college. From photography, coding, dancing, singing, environment, gaming, modeling, etc there exist every domain. It really is good for students life and their side skills.

Hostel Facility has improved now. Wifi is there in every room. Better Desk, beds and tubelights are installed. We have a whatsapp group for online complaints and room cleaning. Hostel mess is average. It is managed by Sodexo company. Meals are pure vegitarian. Quality of food is average and sometimes a little bad.

I have applied for Bihar State Nalanda college, chandi. It gave me aerospace engineering. I didn't choose that because their course curriculum with their faculties and college culture is not fit for getting placement. I wanted some placement oppurtunities through my college and GCET is suitable for it because of their location and college culture. My admission process of my college is through direct admission as well as UPTAC counselling. Direct admission is for those who have low JEE ranks and outside of UP and are early comers. Counselling is for merit based admission for UP students generally with better JEE ranks than direct admission students.

Most of the Faculties are good and supportive. They provide above average marks in internals. You can go to their cabin for doubts. Dushyant sir, Monika ma'am, Anil sir are some of the good Faculties I have met in my first year. There are not bad faculties in this college. It just depends on the interaction and your academic performance. Matter of perspective. Regarding the exams, AKTU conducts them and the system of AKTU is very poor in terms of filling exam forms, generating accurate admit cards. THEIR CHECKING IS VERY VERY POOR. Many students get 1-2 backlog in every semester due to bad checking. Paperwise difficulty level is moderate.

College hostel has a small gym. Good for building body. A little compact but is enough. Lots of equipments are there and we can complaint if something is wrong and they fix that in time. Cafetarias and canteen are good, there are a lot. Costing of food items is normal and quality of food is above average. Hangout places inside my college are the CDE ground, Green ground, Hostel, Cafetarias, mess. Night life is chill with beautiful lights in campus and greenery.
