Course Curriculum Overview

3

I have chosen bba with minor in data science. Data science is one of the most helpful subjects in today's technical world and subjects like python and sql are being taught in this minor in the 2nd and 3rd semester. Also some practical subjects like soft skills and business communication als really help in increasing good communication skills. However some subjects are totally theory based and can include some real world application according to my suggestion. Exams are held every 3 months and after 6 months the semester end exams are held with are of 50 marks and 3 hours each and are quite moderate. Subjects such as data science and economics are quite difficult for students and require consistent practice.

Internships Opportunities

3

DTU main campus provides good internship opportunities through it's TNP cell. Companies include Amazon, Microsoft, Deloitte, EY for software, core engineering and data analytics roles ranging from 9,000 to 50,000 per month. Whereas in the east Delhi campus which is the management campus, mostly companies include startups, IT firms, and MSMEs for business development, analytics, digital marketing, finance and more roles with internship stipend ranging from 5,000-25,000 per month.

Placement Experience

4

Final year students are mostly placed in the college with average package of 8 lpa for management programs and 20 lpa for btech programs. Companies like Deloitte, KPMG and other well know companies come for recruitment. Around 50-60 percent students get placed in management programs and 80-90 in technical programs. A lot of students plan for higher degrees like mba and I'm als aiming for that.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure mainly includes tution fee and all other fee structured like other government colleges. Fee ranges around 110000-120000 for one year for the management programs. There is no accurate information about financial aid and scholarships.

Campus Life

4

Engifest is one of the biggest fests of north Delhi-which is held by dtu during mid-end of February. Other fests are also held occasionally and are quite big. The library provides variety of books and every book has more than one copy so as to make sure every student has access to the books.Sports are also taken care of- variety of sports like cricket football and badminton are there and grounds are also there for the matches. Besides this NCC which is the national cadet corps is also in dtu which is quite strict. Social groups like NSS and rotaract are also very active.

Admission

I chose this college over other colleges as this is a government college and holds the dtu brand value. Also the data science minor that I'm doing is very helpful for today's students and teaches real world application and skills like python and sql. Apart from this i applied to DU and got a decent girls college but the course included was bcom which is quite common for everyone now and didn't have a good curriculum. Also exposure at dtu is quite more than any other Delhi college now. The admission process for management programs in dtu includes selection based on cuet scores. Marks of English and gt are taken for bba and English, maths and any other 2 subjects for ba economics honours. For btech it is based in jee exam scores. To get into btech the competition is quite high whereas for management programs the competition is quite moderate but it is incerasing every year.

Faculty

4

Faculty are experienced and well qualified. Teachers are very supportive and provide good amount if material to students for learning. Some permanent faculty such as professor Manoj sir are very qualified and very helpful. However some faculties can be quite rude due to their strict behaviour. The exams are held semester wise and are moderate to difficult in terms to difficulty level. Around 5-10% have to give their back exams due to low marks in exams or detention because of low attendance. Course curriculum is quite relevant for the students especially practical and technical subjects such as soft skills and data science.

Night Life

4

Gym facilities are provided along with multiple cafeterias which provide multiple snacks and drinks. Hostel facilities are there in the dtu main campus however its not there in the management campus due to a smaller area. Hostels in the main campus are well built with one washroom in each floor. Oat is a very famous spot of dtu main campus where many mini events are hosted. Outside the campus there is not much of anything but the college premises is great.

In the fifth semester is when we get placed and DTU has a very strong history of placing it's students in top corporations like Deloitte, E&Y, De Shaw and others. So placements don't need an inch to be solved as they are top level.

The college has its own placement committee called Pathway. Its a student led body and everyone has the chance to join it in college. There are some conditions you have to fulfill and then you become eligible for the placements. Mainly complete atleast 5th sem with minimum cgpa. Companies like McKinsey, BCG, TOI etc are regularly available for students in our campus. Around 70% students get placed but mainly students opt for off campus placements. I personally want to pursue further studies and I am trying my luck there.
