Dislikes
- The placement opportunities are limited. Only a few companies visit the campus. students mostly depend on self-study and off-campus placement for better jobs.
- Infrastructure is average. Labs are okay need to update. Library resources can be improved. Classrooms are good.
- There are very few cultural activities and technical events. Students who want more exposure may feel bored. More workshops and events should be organized regularly.
Course Curriculum Overview
I think the BCA course curriculum is good and useful. I chose this course because it teaches programming, databases, and computer skills, which are important for IT jobs. The syllabus helps us learn practical skills and prepare for higher studies. Each semester has two internal exams and one final exam. Exams are fair but need regular study. The course can be better by adding more practical work, projects, and interactive teaching. More workshops and real-life examples would help students learn better.
Internships Opportunities
My college provides some internship opportunities for BCA students, usually in the final year. Companies that offer internships include small IT and software development companies. Roles offered are mostly software developer, web developer, and testing assistant. some internships give a small stipend, while others are unpaid but provide a good learning experience. During internships, students work on real projects like building websites, creating small applications, or testing software. These projects help students learn new skills, understand real work, and improve their chances of getting a job after graduation.
Placement Experience
In my college, BCA students can take campus placements in the final year. some IT and software companies visit the campus, but the number of offers is limited. About 20-30% of students get placed. The highest salary is around ?3-4 LPA, and the average is about ?2 LPA. jobs are mostly for software development, testing, or IT support. students who do not get placed look for off-campus jobs or internships. After BCA, I plan to join a good IT company or do MCA to improve my career.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am a BCA student. The BCA fee is ?1,35,650 per year. We are required to pay the fee annually. This fee includes tuition fee, admission fee, registration fee, lab fee, development fee and other compulsory charges. At the time of admission, the college also takes a caution money of about ?1500. The money is refundable after the course is completed. students from the general and management category pay the full fee.SC and ST students pay much less fee because they get the government support. some of my SC/ST classmates pay around ?25,000 to ?30,000 per year. There are scholarships like merit-cum-need,SC/ST government scholarships which helps students pay their fees.
Campus Life
The campus life is good and friendly. The college has annual and technical festivals in february and march. They are fun and help students show their skills. The library has many books and journals that students can easily use for study and projects. Classrooms have projectors and computers, which help in learning. Sports like cricket, football, and badminton are available. There are also student clubs for coding, drama, and social work. These clubs make college life more fun and help students learn new things and meet friends.
Hostel Facilities
I stay in a hostel at the college. My room has a bed, a study table, a fan, and a cupboard. The hostel has basic facilities. The food is not very good and not like home food, but it is okay to eat. The hostel registration is easy, and the fees are not very high. My hostel is very safe, and it is easy to reach college. Overall, the rooms are simple but comfortable for students.
Admission
I applied to DTU Delhi for B.Tech, but my marks were not enough, so I could not get admission there. I still wanted to study computers, so I chose BCA. BCA is a good course to learn programming, computer applications, and IT skills. It also helps in getting jobs or doing higher studies like MCA. This college has a friendly environment, helpful teachers, and a simple admission process, so I decided to join here.
Faculty
The faculty in my college is mostly very good and supportive. The teacher-to-student ratio is around 1:30, so teachers can give enough attention to students. Most teachers are friendly, approachable, and always ready to help with doubts, projects, and career guidance. Some teachers explain topics very clearly with simple examples, while a few focus mainly on theory, which can feel boring at times. Each semester has two internal exams and one final exam. Exams are manageable if we study regularly, but about 10-15% of students may fail. The course syllabus is useful, practical, and releveant for jobs and higher studies.
Night Life
The nightlife near my college is very good. The library closes at 7 PM, and the cafeteria and gym close at 8 PM. Hostels have a curfew around 10 PM. After classes, students usually relax in their rooms, sit in common areas, or study in groups. Outside the college, there are some safe cafes and restaurants where students go with friends. The calm and safe environment helps students rest, study, and have special time with friends after a long day.
