Remarks

Not too much of negatives, but there are some. In the degree levels the influence of students parties are too much. Lots of good students go in to the college and fail in the exams. And too much of violence is there in the college during the time of election. There are lot of positives. Very vibrant campus, there is place named Ooty which is preserved as a "kaavu" which is nice place to spend the free time. And good atmosphere to play the games you like.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Very strict following the university curriculum. Exams are held following the university. Before 2-3 years there was a delay to the semester exams. But nowadays it happens at the correct time. PG courses are strictly following the curricular activities.

Placement Experience

2.5

There are not too much of placements. Some of the banks like SIB conduct placement programmes once in a bluemoon. There are internship in some departments. And a well developed library is there for gathering the knowledge. In a nutshell it is a good studying atmosphere.

College Events

4.5

Most of the events celebrated by the college are by the college union which is selected by the election in the start of the academic year. Also all departments conduct department fests where other colleges also participate.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is feasible. Its acceptable. There are not too much of fee. For me it costs only 3500 per year as tution fee. It is almost common in other aided colleges affiliated to calicut university. There is e grants for economically backward students.

Fees and Financial Aid

E-grants is available here for the students who are economically backward. Also there are students who get inspire scholarship and prathibha scholarship. I am an aspirer of prathibha scholarship. I get 1 lakh in the two year programme of Msc.

Campus Life

3.5

Sports is the main extra curricular activity you find here. There are lot of teams of sports here. Most of them are very strong. Cricket, football, kabaddi, basketball, badminton etc. are always winning the tournaments for the college for years especially cricket and basketball.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes. Really good hostel. Not too much neat and clean. There is facility to clean the hostel. Also we have got a nice food here. With an expense of only 60/day. And good tasty food is available here. It is very rare to have this type of food which is these much cheap.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. They are always helpful in terms of financial helps and mental helps. The alumni always provide fund to the establishment of the college. There is a crowd stance in the ground which is build by 2002 batch.

Admission

I was looking for a PG after my degree Maths was my subject. I applied for CAP in calicut university and I got alloted to this college in the 2nd allotment. I reported to that college for Msc Mathematics course. And admitted permanently.

Faculty

3.5

Very good faucalty in each and every departments. Experienced tutors and lecturers. Well qualified teaching staffs and the great quality also. But the contribution of youth in this field is quite low as compared to other colleges.

Obviously this physics course is tough but the influence of the teachers and other staff made us too motivated and the systematic exam schedule helped us to complete our portion before the exams and there is some more time for the revision purpose.. There teaching method are so useful and they treat us so politely and in friendly nature. So its too easy to clear doubt and feel comfortable to ask them and clear anything.. Its so helpful for us to complete our exam nicely...

Remarks:

JEE Rank was the main factor. The facilities like hostel, labs, etc mentioned in the IIT Palakkad website. During the allotment process, one senior girl student of my branch contacted me and cleared all my doubts whether it was small or big, placement details, etc. After the rankings were released, based on the previous years cut-off ranks, I was able to get a fair idea about the colleges I would be able to join among all the IITs, NITs, IIITs. Based on JEE Mains rankings, NIT or IIITs can be chosen. Based on JEE Advance ranking, IIT can be chosen. Also, 2 mock allotment will take place which gives a fair idea of which allotment we will get. These mock allotment will be based on our preferences. We can change them after the mock. Then the actual allotment will start. Once we finalise our preferences and lock them, there will be 7 rounds of allocation. 3 options will be given in each round-Float, Freeze,Slide (details will be clearly mentioned in the website). Once you are allocated a seat in any round, document verification will take place (seat acceptance fee must be paid at this stage).
