Course Curriculum Overview

4

I think the theory based learning of the curriculum is up to date and these are very helpful to gain the basic and critical knowledge about this field and these are very relavant to this profession of Nursing. But I think they need to improve the laboratory settings and need to be equipped with modern day tools rather than exposing us to traditional tools which are not used nowadays. They need to give us exposure to machineries used nowadays in hospital settings to promote health and wellbeing of the patients. Examination patterns were relevant to the course and of moderate difficulty, but repeated questions are lowering the standard of examination.

Internships Opportunities

5

We went on hospital internships as intern nurses in Maharashtra, Gangamai Hospital. It was a paid internship ofcourse organized by our college so smoothly we faced no difficulty even when we were in a different state. Internship period was so good we worked in real time Hospital settings for 6 months with a stipend of around rs.7000 per month. Learned a lot of practical skills during this internship phase seniors were so loving and eager to improve us as efficient nurses

Placement Experience

3

Students were eligible for campus placements through 3rd year final exams. Various hospitals like Columbia Asia, Manipal, Asian Hearts, Max Hopital offered placement to our Students with an average package of aroung 3 to 4 lakhs. Around 25 Students got placement on campus interviews in different hospitals. My plans are to persue for higher studies after my degree and I'm looking forward to it.

Fees and Financial Aid

BSc.Nursing is a 4 year course Tuition fees of our university is around 40000 every year. Hostel fees is 60000 every year. They took a registration fee of Rs.10000 in first year. And Including travel expenses and other they took around 1lakh 20 thousands every year

Campus Life

4

Experience of campus life was good it was loaded with annual cultural programs, Nurses day celebrations and they organized various workshops regarding health promotion and spreading awareness throughout the community. Many regional festivals like Saraswati puja, pongal, onam were celebrated gorgeously in campus. Libraries are loaded with lots of books and journals relevant to our studies and research purposes. These were very helpful on our research projects conducted under the guidance of our faculties. Classrooms are well equipped with anatomical structures and projectors for better understanding of the theories we digested from the books. University promotes sport and other extra curricular activities by sports day, yoga day and all. They recently built a arena for the promotion of extra curricular activities.

Hostel Facilities

5

For First 2 years we were in hostel and it's mandatory to stay in hostel in first year, there are strict timings for hostel in first year. Facilities were decent, clean rooms, airy rooms, safe drinking water. Each rooms are shared by 4 students. Rooms were clean and sanitation is good. We faced no difficulty for registration of hostel as our university owns 4 to 5 hostel buildings for both boys and girls. Meal was decent we got different meals of Bengali style in our mess. For next 2 years we availed a Pg nearby our campus it was affordable enough.

Admission

I haven't applied for any college other than this so I can't write on this topic. I will definitely look forward if I pursue for higher studies in my respective field. Talking about the admission experience in my university it was decent and smooth I faced no significant difficulties.

Faculty

5

The faculty student ratio was quite decent every year for different subjects. For every subjects faculty student ratio was 1 faculty for around 30 students. Some faculties were so Good like Mrs. Anju and Mrs. Ranjitha they were so helpful throughout our whole University days. Their teaching merhods and methods of explaining the soft skills and providing practical knowledge in classroom settings were commendable enough. No complaints on any faculty members but I think they need to improve or replace some of non teaching staffs and management staffs. University conducted 2 examinations every year, one internal examination and a final examination every year. In my opinion internal examinations were of moderate difficulty and final examinations were hard to clear, you have to be very thorough with the books and study materials and need core knowledge about the topics. Have to be very steady and utilize every second of the time given to complete the examination. Around 5 6 students were unable to clear the exams in final year and they had to go through the supplementary examinations.

Night Life

5

Yes locality is safe to roam around. We hangout a lot around out colleges and used to workout in gyms nearby during evenings. There are lots of cafeterias, restaurants around our campus my favorite was Stop'n Joy, we used to have their special Chicken cheese burger and coffee a lot and as everyone knows Bangalore is full of activities and adventures, Just avoid traffics

Placement Experience:

Placements in our college are available, but they are average and not very high level. The college conducts campus placement for our course, mainly in hospitals and related healthcare sectors. Many students get placed through college, but package is usually basic or entry-level. It is good for starting career and gaining experience.
