What Students Say
Likes
- for me, i really loved the infrastructure and the first-year girls' hostel and the food quality is pretty decent too also the first- and second-year hostel are inside the college so it is really secure too.
- it is an autonomy, so the curriculum is really flexible, and you do not have to worry much about attendance the criteria changes based on the average attendance of students
- due to this being an autonomy the syllabus is different and tailor made for each branch even in first year for computer science students there is no physics and chemistry.
Dislikes
- even though the first-year hostel is really nice, but I can't say the same about second year hostel the food quality is a wreck and they don't even have their own utensils
- the infrastructure is old and shaggy, a few days ago the ceiling of a class room electrical engineering fell down on students, thank god no one was hurt,
- there is too much politics and ragging and they also hide the real issue to protect the college's name. for some of the students even teachers don't say anything to them and reprimand the ones that does not have political power
Course Curriculum Overview
the college is a deemed university now so it can alter the syllabus and because of that most of the subjects have been specifically altered to suit each department which makes it better for the students and also their respective future. i chose mathematics and computing as it opened gates for me such that i can also take part in researches and i can still make sure to go to computer science line, so it is a win win for both sides, and one more thing the odd semester is filled with events so you don't realize time is passing and the even semester is so short you just breathe and it is passed.
Placement Experience
there are not much chances of placement as the student strength has increased drastically, students become eligible for placement from 3rd year, also as per the documentations there are more than 12z companies like hcltech, microsoft etc but not every documentation is correct so the chances of getting placed at campus is significantly low so i am planning to pursue higher studies and opting for gate
Fees and Financial Aid
the btech fee structure for the batch 2024-2028 has some one time charges in the first semester such as registration, development, enrollment, alumni, MIS and also 10000 refundable caution money. The main tuition fee is 32500 in every semester, along with other regular charges like IT infrastructure, library, professional development, maintainence, resources, placement, and exam fees. some extra costs like workshops, internships and certificate fees are added in specific semestes. overall the total fees is about 163700 for first year, 125600 for second year, 124100 in third year and 126600 in final year making a total of 540000 for the four year program regardless of any category, also for the batch 2025-2029 has increased as all the regular charges went up overall the total fees is about 186200 for first year, 146100 for second year and third year and 147600 in final year making a total of 626000 for the four year program which is also regardless of any category, also scholarships like mptaas and mmvy are available. mptaas is based on caste system which gets you 154000 for sc/st, and 30000 for obc and none for general, but mmvy is based on score, the criteria is above 85% in 12th for cbse and above 75% for mpboard it does not have caste system but this is only given to those whose yearly income is less than 6 lakh for general and 8 lakh for sc/st it can give up to 150000 per year to every category regardless of any caste.
Campus Life
the annual festivals were not a part of mits and the first annual fest of mits happened last year which did ended up in a huge fight between students on second day but it was not that huge and the managements were able to hide it, the lost one was a 3 day fest in march reght before our 2nd minors it was a blast for sure. talking about books, i can't say it's a wide range and maybe a little less than decent. in classrooms most of the facilities are for first year students like great classrooms with ac and working projectors after that they are just like schools. mits does offer a great range of sports and extra curriculars which also include clubs the college has a lot of clubs and you can sure enough find the one that suits you.
Admission
the main reason for choosing this college was it became an autonomy and it is literally one of the most thriving colleges currently due to being semi government, and partially belonging to scindia lineage. i also applied for RJIT and i got a confirmed admission in cse but the college was in outskirts which brought doen the safety factor of the college and miits is like in the middle of city so i can go by my own conveyance, i did not recieve any rejection from any college as this was my first choice, the admission process included the counselling by mpdte, you bring two copies of all the listed documents fill the online and offline forms, get both signed and sealed and submit the fee os first semester right there and you are done, i know it does not sound much time consuming here but trust me it takes a whole day to do it.
Faculty
the faculties are way less with respect to the students they always need teachers from other departments to fulfill it, some of the most remarkable faculties i know are jk muthele sir, minakshi dahiya mam, charu goyal mam, monica bhadoriya mam and atul kumar ray sir they actually understand the problem of students and support them. the teacher's i do not like are devanshu tiwari mam becausw she is a bit partial, and the rest of them are pretty decent. there are two midsems aka minors inn every semester of 20 marks each and the final exam aka major are of 30 marks and mostly come in mcq mode like jee main only maths come in pen paper the minors are pen and paper as well and the rest 30 are scored from quizzes in class. the system is specifically designed to make sure students don't fail and they do rarely fail unless they did not attend the exams.
Night Life
if i were to talk about nightlife of college then no it does not exist maybe for guys but for girls the hostel gate closes at 6:30 so you have to reach hostel by then and if you are late even by 5 mins they call your parents and for guys it is like they don't even apply rules to them they are always lurking out. the whole campus closes down at 6 and also there is an open gymnasium inside the college campus where children prefer to go and there is alsa cafe neemed tealogy very close to campus.
