What Students Say
Likes
- The campus is very vibrant, and since its multi disciplinary a lot of networking opportunities
- The infrastructure is ever improving, and gets renovations every once in a while
- The course is constantly updated, to keep it in touch with the industry standards and requirements
Dislikes
- Some faculties have an unnecessary attitude, however it can be ignored
- Several faculties are absolutely clueless about their own subject, with absolutely no practical knowledge
- The library catalogue is quite compact and needs significant overhaul
Course Curriculum Overview
The distribution of the subjects across the course duration is super manageable and does not over burden students. Teaching methods could be made more practical since a lot of the faculty members lack the practical knowledge of their subjects. The exams are not difficult if you know what you are studying for, however the grading is strict and hardly 10 students have a CGPA of above 8 out of 120
Internships Opportunities
The college does not provide internships, however the students are expected to intern after every semester, and a post internship viva is taken by the faculty. The college needs to work on its internship infrastructure, since it gets hectic to find one by yourself after every semester. All the years have a defined internship schedule starting with internships at NGOs.
Placement Experience
Only the final year students are allowed to sit in the placements. Majorly insurance companies visit for placement, including TATA AIG, MAX, HDFC, thr highest package was Rs. 8 LPA. A total of 10 offers were made, so 10% of the previous batch got placed. My plan after degree is to start practicing
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees for our batch was 1,05,000 this included the exam fees, however the college fees has increased for the subsequent batches. There are no other fees for the course, except the college fees. The financial aids are available if applied to the University directly, also, the university's entrance exam provides you with upto 100% scholarship throughout your course if you maintain an 8+ CGPA
Campus Life
There is an inter campus fest called SHORE FEST, which is the biggest in the year, however various clubs and departments conduct their own events throughout the year. The online access of journals and research tools is very good, however the library catalogue is limited. The classes are soundly equipped with various technologies, projectors, speakers, mics, etc. The campus has all the possible sports infrastructure, a full sized cricket stadium, football turf, badminton courts, tennis courts, pickle ball courts, table tenns, a very good gym, and other facilities. There are numerous social groups, that provides ample of networking opportunities
Hostel Facilities
The hostel has all the facilities, wifi, guards, hot water, clean drinking water, etc. The meal quality is very good, however the variety is limited since there is a large student group to satisfy. Registration process is simple, and offline, and the yearly fees for hostels is generally 1,50,000 for non ac rooms The locality of rushikonda and sagar nagar, have a lot of PGs that one can opt
Admission
Applied to a couple of NLUs did not get the T1 or T2 NLUs, and did not want to go to T3 NLUs for the sake of the name, tried other private colleges but they were super expensive compared to this. I got accepted to all the private colleges that I applied to, and all of the T3 NLUs. The college has its own general admission test GAT, which is simple enough to be taken easily, a seperate personal interview is also conducted, though as far as I am aware, it is not a ground for rejection currently.
Faculty
The faculty to students ratio is 1:27, and js quite decent. All of the faculty are approachable within the working hours, and can be contacted regarding anything. The college no longer has mid semester exams, and has a semester exam, with internal markings worth 40 marks, which is easy to score.
Interview Experience
There was a personal interview conducted by the admissions office, and was very general in nature, and the college has its own GAT exam which it takes for admission to all its courses, and is not that tough to ace
Night Life
There is hardly any nightlife since all the facilities across campus are shut off at 9. The girls are not allowed to leave hostels post 8 PM, the boys however don't have any such major restrictions. There are multiple places to hang around, including the indoor stadium, parks, gardens, etc.
