Course Curriculum Overview

2

The curriculum is easier to understand. The syllabus of biochemistry covered all the basics required for the field and that is one of the reasons it helped me understand the scope of biochemistry. This is a good start for those who want to enhance in academics but it is necessary to note that it isn't much helpful for real-world applications. A lot of lab works are necessary but this college had a lack of it. It may have changed now and it would be best to visit the college to get further details. The exams used to be conducted on time by the end of each semester (5-6 months) and it was mostly easy to crack.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for BSc Biochemistry during 2018-2021 was 22000 per semester. There was an increase in Rs. 1000 during the third semester as part of the union fee. The total cost for three years was around 135000 including exam fees. There was no difference of fees structure according to categories. The fee structure may have increased now. There is also scholarships available according to categories.

Campus Life

3

There used to be festivals for freashers, onam, independence day etc. It used to be mostly a 1 day celebration. The library didn't offer much books. A few novels, poetry and academic books were only available. The classrooms were neat and it was mostly managed by students. There were no smart boards during my time which I believe is necessary for ppt presentations, seminars etc. There were no sports programs or students association available during my time but nowadays there are sports programs as well as student run groups available there.

Admission

I did not apply to many colleges. This college admits students based on management seats and there was not much difficulty for me in joining this college. I opted this college because it was women only. To get into this college, there is no specific exams that needed to be qualified. 50% in twelth standard was all that was required.

Faculty

4

The faculty of this college is supportive. The students and teachers have strong bonds by the end of the college period. The best faculty when I used to learn was the microbiology department. The teachers were great academics and used to help students understand the subject on a research level. The college is affiliated to Kannur University and the exams are easy to pass. The exams are conducted on a semester bases. The students find it easy to crack.

Night Life

2

I had never experienced a night life in college campus because this college only had day scholars. There is no hostel for this college. But the canteen space was a place where we used to love hanging out.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choosed this degree for me to pursue higher studies in uk or foreign country to study cosmetics related field. So for that bsc chemistry degree must have But this curriculum doesn't teach something base to that I think so.. For further studies the teachers need improvement to teach certain topics some teachers didn't even prepare to study students and lab safety is not in the lab.Because of the teaching the portions are done in last minutes and often exams are difficult in major subjects so they need to improve their study methods and often approach students nicely..

Placement Experience:

Placements cells are supportive in terms of networking with different companies and are readily active for the students competing in getting internships and placements. The college has a tie up with different companies like Infosys , Wipro , Deloitte , IBM , NVIDIA , Deshaw Private Limited etc. Students become eligible from semester 5 onwards for on campus placements. The offers made by these companies are 8 LPA to 9 LPA by deloitte , innfosys , and IBM but the highest package is being offered by Deshaw and NVIDIA that is 60 LPA and 47 LPA. The average package is around 11 LPA and the percentage of students getting placed are above 80%. My plan after getting the degree is to work for an IT Company to get the hands on knowledge about what the current technologies demand and get experienced in that and work further upon it.

Placement Experience:

Good Placement actually depends upon the students only. The crowd inside the college should be highly capable and enthusiastic for learning. The problem at XIME is not the placement but the crowd and quality of students. The college have proper placements process. Centralized placements across the three campuses are followed. Although students need to pass certain criteria to sit in the placements such as maintaining a particular GPA.
