Remarks

Our college is no doubt a very good college. But it is still not known to a lot of people. Very few students come to this college to study. Our faculty is very good but some of them are a little bit lazy and themselves are confused with some of the important topics in our class.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Our course is afine one.It has some opportunities in academic lines which is good. Our exam structure is pretty good because of the semester wise exams. Our college is under Calcutta university so the exams are strict and lengthy.

Placement Experience

2.5

Our college does not have a pretty good job opportunity because it is an undergraduate college. When we will complete our M.Sc from other colleges then the internship and job placements will be easier for us.

College Events

5

Our college celebrates a lot of events. Many cultural functions are organised by our seniors and union brothers.Whole year many pujas and cultural and sports fests are organised. We become the volunteers in these fests.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure in our college is okay.It is neither too much nor too less.Microbiology is a self financial course so the lab fees and tuition fees is a bit more than other departments. But we have to give our fees once in 6 months so that is a good part.

Fees and Financial Aid

The kanyashree prakalpya and swami vivekananda scholarships are very good scholarships offered to us through our college. We all come from middle class families so it is a bit difficult for our parents to pay so much.

Campus Life

4

Our college provides a lot of extracurricular activities. We have a large field beside our college main building where all kinds of sports are played by all the students of the college. Every year in the winter an annual sports is held and anybody is interested to participate in it.

Hostel Facilities

4

No i haven't used a hostel. I travel from my house daily. Everyday i travel from my house to the college with transportations. There are only a few buses which goes near the college. But one of them is 1b which stops right in front of the college

Alumni/Alumna

Our seniors and alumni network is very strong. They are very helpful to us all the time. They treat us all as their brothers and sisters. They have experienced a lot in their so many years in our college. So the guide us all the time to do our best and to perform our best in the college.

Admission

I applied for online admission and filled up the forms online. Then i payed the form fees online and my name came at the merit list.So i was called for counselling and the admission process was done by paying the admission fees to the college.

Faculty

4.5

Our faculty has total of eight teachers. They are very kind and love us all very much. There are only 35 students so each of us get very good care. Our teachers of the microbiology department helps us with all the academic lessons and also the cultural programs.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

Placement Experience:

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
