Course Curriculum Overview

5

Data science was chosen because it's highly important in industry and the most getting hired skill now in the IT companies. The curriculum is best for both job oriented students and aiming for higher education students. Teaching methods are smart and easily understandable by everyone. The frequency and timing of exams are right and perfect as it needs to be .

Placement Experience

4

After 4th semester students are eligible to sit on campus placements. Wipro, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra , Accentuate, TCS etc MNC visits every year to the university. Highest package offered 4.5 lpa was offered by Deloitte . Average package one should expect is 1.2 lpa. I'm doing job at wipro after the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

As i genral category student i paid 40000 per year that'll be 1,20,000 per 3 years including tuition fees, caution fees, lab fees and other compulsory charges. Odisha State scholarship is provided for the students which is 10000 per year which is 30k for 3 years.

Campus Life

5

There re several fests and functions held throughout the year including department freshers ,farewell's ,annual function and several pujas and festivals celebration. There re several student run social groups, club's everything is available which one can expect.

Admission

I applied to Ravenshaw University only and I got into DSM fortunately. As the only university in our area which got A++ as per NAAC it was first and utmost choice for me. It's a dream university for many of students in Odisha. If you're scoring above 55% I think you're safe for cutoffs. Overall admission process is smooth and fast.

Faculty

5

There're 6 faculties in the department and they're so friendly and knowledgeable. They're so eager to solve a doubt 10 times if it's needed. Manas sir and sujit sir is favourites of all. Both are friendly and talented help the students most in class.

Night Life

5

Gym needs a bit improvement in equipments and safety measures. Library is vast filled with books nivels and what not. There's huge space for reading inside the library. Famous hangout spots are seven pillars and lawn infront of university. The locality is very safe to roam around the nights .

The placement opportunities at KIIT are quite good, especially for us the CSE students. The eligibility criteria for campus placements starts from 7th semester. Many well-known companies visit the university every year like TATA Consultancy Services , Infosys, Wipro, Accenture and Capgemini. The average package offered is around 6-8 lakhs and highest package offered around per yr avg is 50-60 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placements is around 90% plus in average per yr. After completing my degree, i plan to work in software industry and gain more experience in the field of technology

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.

Placement Experience:

Placements in our college are good but not great. Th overall performance of students getting placement from every branch course combined is more than seventy percent. But the percentage in branch to branch respective wise is different , as Computer science engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering and Electrical Engineering have higher placement rates than any other courses. From Seventh semester students became eligible for sitting in placements. You can say from the start of Fourth year students sit in placements. Many companies visit and offer placements to our students but the big companies are TCS( Tata consultancy services) , Infosys, Adani Limited , Reliance Limited , Tata Power and Co.. The highest package offered to our branch course ( Electrical Engineering ) Is 13 LPA by Tata Power. The percentage of students getting placed by Electrical Engineering is pretty good and is 77%. Overall percentage of students from all branches is 72%. My plans after getting the degree is simple. I am preparing for placements and also for gate exam . I want to give myself a chance . I will try to get a big placement from a big company as I want . If that doesn't go according to my plan I will try to qualify gate exam and will do Masters in Technology in a. Higher Institute.
