What Students Say
Likes
- The environment for studying is really great. Helpful teachers, a library with insane variety of books and what not.
- The hostels are properly made and very clean and maintained and there is no issue regarding safety of a student
- The teachers have great expertise in their field and the college really makes it hard for a student who doesn’t study so either way everybody studies and learns proper things unlike other private medical colleges,
Dislikes
- The campus is pretty much like a jail. Too many restrictions for a student whos above 18.
- Very depressive state of students in the college. They always target the students from boys hostel. The even call up the parents for minor things like home pass
- The food provided by the hostel is absolutely trash and total waste of money since hostel fees is more than 1,50,000 for everyone be it triple or single room. The Budge Budge are is full of snakes and reptiles that dwell around the college campus too
Course Curriculum Overview
Honestly MBBS is s great course i think in terms of money making and respect in society. My dad is a doctor so my family wanted me to become a doctor too and I was kinda forced into this but yeah the course is very rewarding for those who work hard theres no question about it.
Internships Opportunities
Well since its a medical college, you are going to be a future intern there only, not in any other college. The payout for the interns in our college is lower than that of government colleges since the number of patients is low.
Fees and Financial Aid
Well MBBS in private colleges are way too different than studying MBBS in government colleges. Keeping everything aside just the fee structure in total(whole course) is 25 Lakhs for State Quota 1 Cr for Management Quota More than 1Cr 20L for NRI Quota And hostel fees is more than 1,50,000 for an year But yes the hostel fees. It's absolutely not feasible since the food is trash.. PGs or Flat outside are more lucrative options
Campus Life
The campus life is mehh. Honestly there are no clubs and people are least innovative and least interesting when it comes to extracurricular activities. Not that they don't actively participate but most people here are passionless when it comes to extracurricular. There are no student run groups or clubs or anything like that. The campus is pretty restrictive for anything which an adult student would like to do. I cant explain the hectic and absolutely depressing life lead by the students here so dont take admission here on JIMS.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are better than rooms of other private colleges. And thats it. The meal quality is absolutely trash so most people who live in hostel just eat food from outside the campus. If u want a better living with better food in a substantially lesser amount then opt for PG outside the campus.
Admission
Just like every medical student. You gotta attempt the NEET examination. And according to your marks it decides whether you're in a government or a private college. The difficulty level is pretty hard if you havent studies thoroughly and still its like 20L or some applicants who sit for the examination so its a tough competition.
Faculty
The faculty members(only the teachers) are the only good thing this college has provided. They are helpful to you if you make an effort while interacting with them. They are great supervisors. They do make it difficult for the students sometimes but if you study at least thats an area where youre not gonna have any trouble.
Night Life
What do you even mean by nightlife.. Yes, the campus does have a nice gym, normal cafeterias and blah blah blah.. But its not up to the mark.. Everyone should be inside the hostel gates by 10PM.. Smoking and drinking are prohibited in and out of the hostel but you will figure out a way to do it if you need it that bad.. There are no famous hangout places except Salim Da that is our regular chai sutta bar.
